The green-thumbed lad grinned. "Nay, milord. 'Tis an inhabitant of a world of such speaking creatures. But I would guess thou hast seen such creatures now and anon upon thine travels, if thou dost know of the lands of Faerie, milord. Pixies and Nixies, Boggarts and Buggers, Sidhe and Unseelie, Unicorn and Pegasus and Griffon and Wyrm, Kelpie and Mermaid, Siren and Harpy, Sphynx and Hippogriff, each of us as clever and witted as the next."

The figure chuffed, with a hint of derision. "Indeed. So, tell me, fey. What am I?" He took off his mask, revealing a face like that of a human, except for the beak. It was cracked, and yellowed, but appeared to be rather strong. Laserbolt let out a 'huh', then stood up. "Tengu, right? From the look of you, you're some sort of Blight Druid. You stink like one, that's for sure." The creature laughed huskily. "Looks like you know more than your stupid face shows, born of Equus."

Jet Trooper RHO-539(or Rocky, as his fellow soldiers knew him) had never really understood what went on between battles... the wars he fought against never-dying droids alongside his seemingly never-dying comrades was the only consistent theme in his life. After another battle on the platforms of Bespin was won, the clone trooper--clad in white armor with green highlights and a jetpack--found himself entering a rustic, homey tavern. It was certainly unlike anything from the world he knew; there were humanoids and colorful-furred quadrupedal aliens, one of which being the bartender. They looked different from other aliens he'd seen, though... almost like living works of art designed to cheer you up after a hard battle...
Rocky stepped up to the bar, removing his helmet to reveal the face of a grown, buzz cut black-haired man with the soft skin and young eyes of a youth. The number 539 was tatooed on the side of his head. He gave the bartender a smile as he sat down and ordered "something cool and refreshing", not being at all familiar with what particular drinks would be served here. He glanced to the right to notice an unfolding conversation between a winged quadruped, what appeared to be two humans(though one looked oddly green near his fingers and was sitting on what appeared to be a flower), and another strange bipedal being with a beak and claws. He chose to sit quietly and listen for anything of cultural importance before trying to initiate conversation with anyone.

The attention of the Blight Druid was caught by the trooper who had entered, and left Laserbolt, who was about to retort, when he realized that the Tengu was walking away. "And what are you? Almost human, but... not quite." He tapped on the trooper's jetpack. "And what is this atrocity supposed to be?"

The beaked humanoid's response wasn't exactly what Rocky was expecting... He knew his appearance was probably way different from any sort of norms around here, but he didn't see quite such a rude reaction coming. Nonetheless, he wasn't one to respond to insults. Clones faced them all the time... he just had to follow the orders of his superiors and get the job done. For now, there were no orders and he was off-duty, so all that was left was to stand around politely, proud and tall to represent the Grand Army of the Republic. "This is a JT-12 model limited flight jetpack. As for me, I am a soldier of the Republic. You are speaking to RHO-539, from the seventh jet trooper platoon of the 501st legion..." Rocky paused for a moment, doing his best to make sure his next words didn't come out as a blatant challenge. "...and I am quite human." After a moment's pause, he came back by asking, "Might I know your name, sir?"

The Wanderer smiled softly at the Tengu's question. "Human, good druid. Simply enhanced, formed through technology and science rather than by natural birth, as it were. And that would be a means of flight developed by the denizens of his world, sans magic. Infinite realms of infinite possibilities. If there is one thing that is constant, it is that there are always new things to see and learn, and always a bigger fish. Ah, the marvels that lie on the infinite planes! Some beyond the comprehension of any save the Maker. It is well to have a sense of humility, for who can fathom the breadth and vastness of the All?"
She/He/It/They/Magus turned to the newcomer with eyes older than Time. "Welcome and well-met, sir."

The Magus didn't fail to get a smile from Rocky. Looked like someone here had not just a little sense, but maybe even more than him... they probably knew a dangerous amount, and yet they decided to behave kindly and rationally with it. Rocky's first impression was that the somehow indescribable human who just addressed him would probably make a great senator. He replied with a nod and partial bow, unsure if a bow was proper here, but the dialect seemed to encourage this sort of greeting. "Thank you," he replied, intending to end his response with 'sir' or 'ma'am', but... that was difficult to settle on. The only thing he could settle on was the humanity of the individual who was addressing him... total humanity. He couldn't help but get a feeling that the Kaminoans would love to get their greedy hands on some of this person's stem cells. "I'm RHO-539," Rocky said. "To whom do I have the pleasure of speaking?"

"My name is Nikolai Strenyokov, and I-" Laserbolt walked up, interrupting the Druid. "Hey, nice jetpack. What's it made out of? What does it run on? How often do you have to repair it?" The druid glared at the interruption, but ignored it.

The clone didn't reply for a moment, beginning to appear a bit baffled by the number of individuals he was talking to at one time. After a moment's pause, Rocky steeled his face as though he was concentrating on something, then turned to Nikolai. "Good to meet you, Nikolai Strenyokov. You what?" He turned to Laserbolt. "I'm sorry, but that information's not mine to give." Rocky looked between all three of the individuals around him, waiting for who would answer next... almost as if challenging them to try overwhelming him now. They caught him off guard at first... but he was one of the elite soldiers of the Grand Army of the Republic. He could multitask.

The Wanderer smiled reassuringly. "I am called the Wandering Magus by some, the Magus by others, by some Wanderer, by others the Silent Watcher. I am an entity of the Void, of no world, not even the world between worlds, but I am a guardian of the weird-ways, and a knight of the crossroads. Though I wander, I am not lost: I have known each path upon which I have been fated to tread. But only the Maker knows the End of All Things. Do not be flustered or alarmed. Though the questions seem many, they are but few in the grand scope of things, and they are but questions. You have fought many battles and brought terror upon armies of droids, friend. This is but a stop at Coruscant, talking with counterparts and civilians at a cantina."

Rocky couldn't pretend not to be surprised that the Wandering Magus knew that much already, but he didn't let it stop him from noting one fact. "Well, this place is definitely more appealing than any cantina I've been to." After making that note, he paused a moment to consider. "An entity of the void? How does that come about?" He was a little skeptical, but this being was only presenting valid evidence toward its claim thus far, ridiculous as it may be.

"May I?" Laserbolt grinned, eager to show off a bit. "Being an 'entity of the void', as he calls himself, entails a physiology that does not quite match with ours. His senses are much more complex than ours. Once, I had sort of... tapped into a power that's on par with him, and it left me a little weird. I can sometimes see through the eyes of 'other me's', which sometimes gives me some interesting information. He's like that, but with everyone. In addition, I know him as a bit of a guardian angel for me."

Rocky certainly couldn't fit Laserbolt's description into a word picture, but after a moment of thought he supposed that was the point. "Fascinating..." He cast a glance at Alfonzo Green Thumb, who had been oddly silent since he entered, and looked back at Laserbolt. "He's awful quiet... it's because I'm a bred soldier, isn't it? I've gotten this reaction before... some people just don't want to speak to a killing machine," he said grimly.

"Him? I doubt that's why. He seemed pretty tolerant of the Living Death over here." Laserbolt nodded to Nikolai, who was currently sitting by himself, and growled slightly at the mention of his name. "I don't' see why he'd have a problem with you."

Alfonso of the Green Thumbs grinned, hopping down and bowing. "Nay, milord! 'Twas merely me mode o' courtesy, not wanting to interrupt thine conversations, as it were. Aye, but the world has changed since first I strolled the fields of Elysium, or pranced beneath the shadows of the Hedge of Faerie, on the borders of Alfheimr. No longer the shamans with their chants and bones, nor rabbi and druid with wand and staff, nor witch and wizard with sigil and rune. No more the awe and wonder of little children come before the Standing Stones to witness the rising of the sun, nor love and adoration of old women leaving saucers of milk and honey at the corners. Now there is naught but cold iron and lifeless glass in all too many worlds. But even still, the mind of humanity fascinates."
He leaned in closely, though not too closely, looking deep into the soldier's eyes with eyes as green as the grass of the Garden at the beginning of the world.
"And never does the soul speak out more clearly," he whispered, half to himself, as he nodded and looked away, sitting back on his flower, now scarcely the size of an index finger.
