"Well first off is the little ones. So let's head out." Aldorn gets up and follows Frost's lead.

Asterian looked down on the city like a sentinel, watching calmly over the landscape. In particular, he kept his eye near the gate, hoping to perhaps see some new faces. An outsider... I wonder where they could have come from, he thought.
Now, having the time to think about it, what was the world above like? He knew it was cold -- almost like a long winter -- but what was left of society before now?

The soldiers nodded, standing up as well, being careful not to disturb the slumbering giant that was still shielding the group from the wind.

Naturally, it was probably going to take the new guests a while to adjust. In fact, now that he thought of it, they might not actually come to the city proper for perhaps a day. He would learn more by asking the guards in the front, or listening to their conversations from above. He'd also probably learn something about the visitors if they just came and left like one of those crazy traders that used to go from settlement to settlement according to the older denizens.

Asterian slowly descended towards the guards below, hoping to pry into their conversations. He knew that asking might incur some form of penalty, given that the guards were hired by the city rather than the House of Élire. He sat on a perch a couple of stories up from them, eyeing the new arrivals silently and ensuring he could follow them with ease if he felt the need to do so.

Frost leads the little group of theirs onwards towards the small group of ponies and foals that need a home. She guides them around the storm making sure they stay in her sight and she stays in theirs. It isn't long before they come to the place.
===Cave opening Somewhere near what use to be the Everfree forest=== Frost Leads the group right up to the opening then calls into the cave, "Hello, anypony home. Its me Frost. I said I would find yall a home and I found one. Sorry it took so long. I had trouble at the ponyville shelter and then found my way to another place that agreed to help yall. I have three others here with me to help yall get to the place I found for ya. We're coming in." Frost after calling into the cave opening heads inside. "Come on, they are in here. I hope it didn't get too cold for them. I have been gone about a month."

Aldorn went inside the cave and looks. He faces Frost. "It would be safe to say that they are safe from the harsh cold outside. They would all be warm if cuddled together. The only danger would be that other wanderers or scavengers were to find them. Ponies now a days will rely mostly on survival and do what they can to achieve that, even applying force as their solution. Looking at this area, I see no indication of struggle, so they may be safe. Our other concern is how we are to transport them in the cold. Do they have personal heaters of their own? If not, we may have to radiate heat from out heaters to share the warmth."

(( Allow me to throw in some romance here... ))
Asterian peeled away from his reconnaissance mission, returning to his stunts and tricks on the city roof-tops. He knew that the new arrivals would be staying in a place he could keep an eye out for them; the House of Élire owned nearly half of the hotels, which were built not for the purpose of making money--although, the hotels were profitable--but to keep a lookout for new arrivals so as to ensure they did not try anything to undermine the integrity of the city.
With the peace of mind that he would be able to talk to them later, the Son of Jace moved quickly and quietly towards the market district. There was a particular music equipment store he liked to stay at for most of his time, partially because he was skilled at the violin and was allowed to play the Straddlvarius they had, but mainly because of a particular mare that so happened to work there–Octavia Philharmonica.
She was not a noble by any means, even if she was an upper-class pony, but to Asterian, it made no difference. She had the grandeur of ponies twice as wealthy as Lord Fancy Pants, but she was kind, gentle, and a sweet-heart. His heart fluttered just thinking about her as a mental image of her smiling face came to mind. She didn't yet know of his feelings for her, neither did Asterian know of her feelings, but he felt that that would change. The unicorn picked up his pace, eager to see his crush as the faint sound of a cello registered in his ears.

Frost says to Aldorn, "I believe that is why the two with us brought the extra items. So they could make it back in the cold. I can use my shield but not while we are moving. It is one of the few abilities I have yet to fully master their current strength. They should be deep inside. I told them to get as far from the cold here as possible and even left them an igloo in here for extra warmth. the igloo should not melt because of the outside cold but it should keep in the heat." Frost continues deeper into the cave giving time for the guards with them to catch up.

The two soldiers follows Frost, making sure nothing surprises them from behind as they head into the cave. The howling wind was no longer a problem, but unless there was another opening elsewhere, the place could be a bit stuffy the farther in you went, depending on whether you could go down or up.
*****
It was already the afternoon, and a few crickets were chirping lazily in the grasses of some parks and rooftop gardens as Asterian reached the market district. While it was normally active during this time of the day, most of the activity occurred inside the various stores; the streets themselves were somewhat quiet today. In any case, all sorts of preparations were being made for the traditional Summer Sun Celebration that Lord Fancy insisted on maintaining, despite the word "sun" not really having any meaning to the modern child. Banners and streamers hung here and there, and one could glimpse the floats being made by schoolchildren on occasion. Outside of Octavia's store, a doe was leading her fawn back home after lessons, and a small group of kids and pups were playing hide-and-seek.

Asterian could feel his nerves seizing up, but for the moment, he held them in tight reins. He lowered his hood and stepped inside the music shop.
As he had expected, the cellist was practicing. One of the things that Asterian found appealing about the young mare was her music; it wasn't just a song, it was a story from her heart. He could tell that every note she played had meaning to it, almost as if the song was alive. Starfall stepped off-center from the entrance, silently relishing the sweet music that played and waiting for Octavia to finish.

Asterian sees no new faces - yet. There is ample evidence, however, that there WERE visitors here, and that several of the regular guards had left the outpost with said visitors; there were also quite a few supplies missing, probably having to do with a "short" journey of a few days. Perhaps it was a rescue mission?
*****
The ponies and griffon found the small herd of foals huddled next to each other at the far corner of the cavern, many looking sickly, pale and gaunt with hunger and cold. It was obvious that the Ice had not been kind to these poor souls, but fortunately, their fate was about to take a turn - for the better.
"Celestia bless us," muttered the lieutenant as she looked at the pitiful little urchins. "We should have set out hours earlier."

Mr. Brown smiled at the diamond dog's generosity, but shook his head. "I wouldn't want to put a dent in your find," he countered, "but if you find any garnets, I'll keep one of those. Pretty enough to commemorate the occasion, but not valuable enough to slow you down. Give your grandfather--and your whole pack--my congratulations on this wonderful find. The fact that you're putting me in business polishing gemstones is quite enough for me! Just let me know when you've completed the dig, and I'll try polishing them all at once. Of course, it may take me a second day, if this finding rate keeps up."

Frost walks up to the little ones and says, "What happened to the elders that were with you? I kept my promise though. I brought those from a place that will take you all in. Now. lets see, what did yall bring? I have some frost ointment for their frost bite. I used it the last time I was with them to help the elders become strong enough so I could go look for a home for them." Frost pulls from her bag the familiar item she used before. She begins applying it to the most affected first. It is cold, at first, but soon the cold gives way to heat as the frost bite is healed.

Aldorn looks at the small group of foals, then at Frost. "I'll go wait by the entrance to make sure nothing surprises us. It would not be good for us if we met up with some unwanted company." He heads towards the entrance of the cave and stands guard there 'til the group is ready to leave.

Asterian payed no heed to the missing guards as he continued to bask in the glow of Octavia's wonderful music. He stood for a time, unable to alert her to his presence. He looked around the room, still awaiting Octavia to finish, when a certain instrument caught his eye–a violin. He walked over to pick up the instrument, making sure not to disturb Octavia in the process. He inspected the violin thoroughly, wanting to be certain it was of the finest quality. Once he was satisfied, he picked up the violin in his right hoof, holding the bow in his left. He levitated a small piece of rosin towards him and brushed it along the fibers of the bow, ensuring it would play correctly.
He took a silent breath and began to play harmoniously in tune with Octavia.
