Coffee Joe waved at Mr. Brown as he made his way home, but otherwise the pony was left to his musings. He could almost make himself believe that everything was exactly as it should be; the blue illusion of a sky and the pegasi and griffons moving the clouds above certainly helped.
His home was par for the course as far as homes went in Orod Khazad: sturdy granite, angular, polished stone tiles. Wood panel veneer on the floor with thick rugs to stave off the cold, warm hearth of magical coals, plaster and wood and wallpaper veneer on the walls. Plaster veneer ceiling. Decent glass windows looking out onto the street. The thin layers of decorative veneer helped to maintain the illusion of normalcy, and gave all the homes around here a sense of familiarity, as if Ponyville or Canterlot or whatever town you came from had been simply transported wholesale into the city, rather than having been built out of quarried stone and poured concrete.
Indeed, the birds chirping in the trees and the squirrels scampering about the grass lawn outside made for relaxing, nature-ish noises, and the pony next door was listening to classical music on the radio, as was quite popular among the denizens here.

The Commander and the two other soldiers nodded gravely. "Certainly. No payment is necessary, Miss. I must stay to guard the entrance, but the Lieutenant and the Captain will accompany you."
The soldiers in questions saluted, and the Captain spoke. "Yes sir. Miss, as Mr. Aldorn said, if you would please guide us to the location of these foals, we will act as quickly as possible."
Lieutenant Warm Heart, meanwhile, was quickly getting extra clothes and heaters for the anticipated new guests.

" I must tell you this is the third place I have come to and the others all told me bull just to get me to leave. they said things like no room left or not enough food. I don't think they like beings of the cold like me very much it seams. Like I am some kind of monster to them. But that off the point. When you have the needed items head east for about two days. They should be in a home made of ice and snow. I helped them make it so that they can keep the heat in and the cold out. Better yet I can show you. Follow when ready." Frost makes for the entrance and then looks to the other pony and says, " You want to come with us? We could use the help." She puts the statue back into her bag before asking, " Have you ever heard of the one with the sun cutie mark? It seams that the statue is a depiction of one such pony. I just thought I would ask." She waits by the entrance for the others before setting back out into the cold. ---When back out in the cold--- She activates her Ice Armor ability now that she is back in the cold and out of the heat.
Her coat turns Frozen Blue with ice covering it like armor Her main and tail Turn Snow White but otherwise retain their style her cutie mark glows slightly marking the increase to her power.

Aldorn looks at Frost. "I would like to join you. And yes I have heard of the one with the sun. One of the two who ruled over a nation buried in the snow, now missing along with many other gods and goddesses of this world." He turns on his personal heater and readied his weapons. He walks over to where Frost is, ready to venture out into the cold wasteland.

Frost shows him the gold statue with the sun mark on it. The statue now has a golden glow to it. "I found this near Talos, when I first set out. I have no idea why after a few minutes in the heat of anyplace this statue gains this golden glow. I have been for 3 or so years now trying to find a way to return the land to normal. I chose this path because my parents died because of one of the freak blizzards that hit. It was also how I discovered my special purpose with the cold and gained my cutie mark."

Lieutenant Warm Heart wrapped her clothing tighter against her heater as they stepped out into the subzero temperatures outside the gates. "It looks like the figure of Princess Celestia, one of the Princesses that once ruled the ancient land called Equestria, from which all the citizens of the Duchy are said to have descended. All youths learn of Them in history class. I never thought I'd see an actual artifact of Her, though."
She looked closely at the statue, taking in the details. "So fair... like a Sun-Crystal, but more, the way a real apple is so much more than a drawing of an apple."
She turned and looked at Frost as they continued trudging through the snow. "Where did you find this?"

Frost starts guiding them to the location of the small group while saying, "As I said I found this near my home of Talos. Normally the weather is manageable this time of year but about three years ago we had a sudden freak blizzard show up. My parents were a master weather pony and a master flame mage. They gave their lives so the ponies could find shelter before the big part of it hit. It was a few days after that event that I started my journey and a few days after that, near the old canterlot mountain, that I found this statue, I have been trying to identify it ever sense. But as I said before the other places I have been to would not have me. I think they thought of me as a monster for being adept in the cold when they weren't. It has been a hard life living on ice and snow for most of the last three years."
She suddenly makes a slight course correction and says, "This way I can lead us around the bulk of this storm. It would make travel much faster and easier to avoid the center of these storms."

Aldorn looks at Frost. "You know your way around this place, but its probably because you don't have to stop every moment looking for a cave to rest and restore the heat energy. A advantage at those would still do harm. And you are not the only one who lost a home. I was at Rowan village, as a blacksmith, until this whole blasted ice came and took everything, even our Goddess, Gaia. Now I'm trying to restore this world back to where it once was."

(( Terribly sorry for the delays in posting. ))
Asterian embraced his father and mother in the hug, chuckling lightly to himself. "Father, mother, I will make you both proud. The name Élire will not be forgotten, nor will the world of old." With that, he broke from the hug, took a bow, and turned around to leave. He began to trot off towards the high tower, a favorite place of his to be, as it over-looked the city in all its splendor. Not only that, but he had something hidden there that he had been building for quite some time now, and he knew that it was time to test its mettle and metal. He drew the hood of his robe over his head and left the library with a grin on his face.

" Talos isn't lost as far as I know. I am traveling to restore the world and bring back what once was. My parents always told me tales of the royal ones. Even of the newest one, princess sparkle. I do wish someday to meet them. As for your heat restoration a have a cold shield dome we can use to restore it but my Frost Armor will not function inside of it and for a small time after it drops. so you can move. Just please tell me when the heat packs are low and I will use my shield. It can only protect a small group like ours so I couldn't use it on them. And it only lasts a little while. I may be talented in the cold but because I rarely have to use such abilities they don't last very long and are not very strong. This statue is the only thing I found that points to the royal ones." Frost says to Aldorn and the other's with her. She guides them around the main body of the storm so as not to be hit with the coldest part. Even though she can handle that very well with her Frost armor active.

The deadly cold of the Eye avoided, the ponies and griffon wove their way through the gale winds and needle-like snow blasting them from all directions. Though little could be seen, the unusual Frost seemed to instinctively know her way, guiding them through the treacherous wilderness with a surety that few others could claim.
After what felt like hours, the group came upon a small spot where they could rest, though little more than a hollow in the ground partly covered with Snowberries. Without warning, a shadow loomed out of the unending whiteness, but to their relief it was only a Hoary Aurochs, cow-like creature roughly twice as tall and three times as long as a pony, covered in extremely thick fur and looking at them with mournful eyes as it snorted and lowered its head to the bushes and began to nibble on the berries. Its massive body helped to block some of the wind and ice of the storm.

Maids and butlers and other servants bowed to the young noble as he passed through the quiet halls of his mansion, footsteps echoing off tiled floors and polished walls hung with tapestries and paintings. Outside he could hear the singing of birds in the warm summer air as the Sun-Crystals slowly moved towards their Midday positions on magical tracks high above. A shadow briefly passed as a pegasus and a griffon rushed towards the site of today's scheduled rainstorm with the last of the stormclouds. It was a peaceful day, by most accounts.

After some time of climbing stairs, which was not too difficult thanks to his physique, Asterian reached the peak of the highest tower. Rarely did anypony besides him set hoof in the tower that it had become something like a second room just for him. A few crates and boxes lay there, filled with a few treasures from his personal wealth, but the gem he searched for was one made of steel. Asterian ignited his horn and moved a small, ornate box towards him. It was riddled with all sorts of locks and mechanisms, and for good reason; it held something dear to him. Being of his own design, only he could open it. He slid several pegs along their sliders, gently gliding them into place with a soft click. Once the last peg was in place, the latch opened to reveal two gauntlets. At last... They are ready. He slipped the bracers onto his forelegs, fitting perfectly on his wrists. Of course, that was the idea, as they had also been constructed by him. I am glad that father taught me mechanics when I was younger. After fastening the straps on his new armaments, he replaced the box in its original position, locking it back. Asterian strode over towards the window and looked out over the city.
(( I did say I wanted to try and pass Asterian off as an Ezio-esque character... Let's see where this goes! ))

" Ok this looks like a good place to settle for a break today. One of a few we will need. Lets let the being have its meal before getting a few for ourselves. We are about half way there thanks to the bypass of the eye. I think it best you all head inside and see if you can recharge those heating units. If you need it I will use the dome shield." Frost says. She looks around to make sure no preditors are near by. Storm Sight The ability allows those who use it to see better in storms and farther away. Useage type: active Duration: 4 G.M. Posts Effect: reduces the visibility loss because of storms. Allowing for sight farther into the storm then normally possible.

Aldorn stays with Frost. "I am fine out here. My heating unit can last for a couple of days before running out. The others, however, I don't know how long theirs can last. If needed, I can recharge their heat packs instead so you don't have to bring up the dome shield."

Asterian saw many thousands of buildings, some tall, some shorter, some with ledges and decorative protrusions, others closely spaced next to each other with narrow alleys running between. Occasionally, there were poles and signposts on walls, and far below piles of hay stacked at the bottom of various towers, such as in the kitchen storage area under the ledge outside the window where he was. An eagle that had been resting on a nearby cloud woke up as it heard him approach the window, blinked and took off with a screech.
The sun-crystals shined over the city, making the buildings gleam like so many jewels and gemstones in a chest. Ponies, griffons, diamond dogs and deer milled about the streets, going about their daily business, and usually not paying heed to the rooftops. The perfect environment for a little... exercise.

Besides the exhausted Aurochs, there were no other animals in sight. The animal chewed thoughtfully on the berries, regarded the assembled would-be rescuers with tired eyes, and decided to lie down for a short rest, becoming a sort of living wall against the wind. The two Fancy soldiers checked their heating units, then nodded.
"These should last at least a week, barring extreme bad luck or an ice drake attack," grinned Lieutenant Warm Heart reassuringly as she tightened her gold-gilded breathing mask, engraved with the triple crown and fitted to prevent subzero air from entering her lungs directly and freezing her from within. "Anyone need rations to go with the Snowberries? We have a little. It's not much, but it's filling, and magically warm."

Frost says, "When you have had it as hard as I have, a good meal right from the oven is better. But I have enough rations of my own to work with. Thanks for the offer anyways. Once we have eaten lets let this one get some rest and us be on our way. I wouldn't want somepony disturbing my nap now would I." Frost mixes her cold based rations with the snowberries and eats a good meal. She also packs some of the snowberries away for later to give to the group when they get to them.
