Frost says, "I owe you big time for this Aldorn. Ok! After this, I am so treating you to a spa treatment. Ok, so between us we have...." Frost begins to bid again this time not going higher then 38000B. Her and Aldorn will share the books for now. Frost is more excited now but decides to keep a cool look about her and doesn't show how much she actually has till she is out bid by somepony else.
((New max bid is up to 38000B. Frost's 13000B will be spent first. So on the table is Aldorn with 25000B and Frost with 13000B. Frost's Bits goes first.))

Octavia smiled as she looked back. Oh, how things have changed since this morning! She wondered what sorts of things awaited them in the near future? Only time would tell.
She looked out over the vastness of Orod Khazad, the place she called home, with a sense of longing and regret. Asterian's words echoed in her mind. What if there was a way?
Suddenly, she sat up, blinking. There was a herd of young foals and tired-looking adults near the Market Street, accompanied by two guards. Outsiders? So many of them?
"Asterian," she whispered, nudging her coltfriend and pointing.
The two obvious Outsiders' bidding sparked much interest and lively chatter as a crowd of curious onlookers began to form on the auction house's floor. Frost could even see the foals they had rescued earlier were taking a brief detour to watch as the other bidders raised their eyebrows at the stakes she was putting in.
"13000!"
"Thirteen thousandbitbid, I have thirteenthousand, do I hear a fourteen thousand, fourteenthousand, fourteenthousand bit bid? Fourteenthousandbits, fourteenthousand?"
"Fourteen grand!"
"Fourteen thousandbitbid, fourteenthousand, now fifteen, who'll give me a fifteen, do I hear a fifteenthousandbitbid, fifteen, fifteenandahalf, fifteenandthree-quarters?"
"Sixteen!"
"Sixteen thousandbitbid, sixteenthousand, who'll gimme seventeen, seventeenthousandbitbid, do I hear seventeen, seventeenandahalf, eighteen, eighteenthousandbitbid?"
The little foals they had rescued earlier cheered their rescuers on. "Go Miss Frost, go!" squealed a filly before she was shushed by the others still straining to keep up with the auctioneer's rapid-fire talking.

Frost continues to bid till their little reserve is out bid. Much to their competitor's dismay she keeps a poker face lisening to the auctioneer's words and bidding when needed of her.
((Max bid is 28000B. Current spending 13000B frost and 4000B Aldorn.))

Asterian looked up to observe the group. "Outsiders?" he mused. He rose into a kneel and began to further inspect the group.

Octavia looked curiously at the group, which seemed to be gathering around the entrance to the nearby auction house, and they could faintly hear the auctioneer's chant and a mare with an unfamiliar accent bidding up a storm, apparently for a set of history books.
Wait. History books? Octavia had a nagging feeling that the sudden influx of Outsiders and the sudden start of this bidding war was no coincidence, and she looked at Asterian, as if to say, should we take a look?
The auctioneer had roused the crowd up to fever pitch by now, and ponies all over the floor were raising their bidding cards as fast as you could blink, which the unlucky few did and got quickly thrown out of the race to the top. Ponies weren't even talking or calling out their bids anymore as the auctioneer's voice rose and sped up into almost a sort of chant, so fast that it seemed a different language entirely.
"18thousandbiditnowa19thousand19,willyagimme19makeit19biddin'itona19thousandwillyagimme19,who'llbida19thousandbid,19thousandbiditnow,20,willyagimme20tamakeita20tabidita20,whowouldabiditata20thousandbid,20thousandbiditnowa21bit,21willyagimme21makeit21,biddinitona21thousandwillyagimme21,who'llbida21thousandbid?21thousandbiditnow,22,willyagimme22tamakeeita22tabidat22?"
The bidders were down to only a few well-heeled collectors now, most of whom were sweating. Those books could not possibly be worth 22 thousand bits to the strange mare! Could they?

frost noticing the other buyers and says, "22000B!" She looks around to see if anyone outbids the value.
((Max bid 28000B. Current 11000B frost and 11000B Aldorn. this will allow aldorn to keep much of his bits and Frost the ability to get a little more.))

"It's getting a bit intense, don't you think? For a couple of history books, we sure got them riled up." Aldorn looks at the total amount of our new bid. "I wonder how many will back down now? I thought this many would immediately turn they other bidders down if we are willing to spend this much money."

Forst keeps a poker face and say, "Only the auctioneer can tells us if we have them or not. The other buyers as well. This is a battle of the rich and it looks as if we may or may not have it." frost continues to wait for the auctioneer to say the words she is looking for. Her face show a stone cold nothing.
((I guess there is one advantage to being a being of the cold. You can bluff like the best of them because you have ice for emotions. Current Bid 11000B for Frost and 11000B for Aldorn. Maximum bid is actually 38000B not 28000B I did the math wrong. opps.))

The other rich ponies gaped at the mare's bid as the auctioneer grinned, unperturbed. An auctioneer saw this sort of thing all the time, given that half the inventory was collectables, and they knew just how far some ponies were willing to take an obsession. Of course, they didn't really care what that obsession was or why it existed, but the higher they could raise the price, the more the auctioneer could earn.
"TWENTY-TWO-thousand bid it now, 23,a23,willyagimme23,makeit23,biditona23,willyagimme23,who'llbiditata23thousandbid?"
One stallion shakily held up a card in response to the auctioneer's chant, giving Frost a nervous look and swallowing as the other prospective buyers in the audience found or made various excuses for ignoring the fact that the price on a set of old books was now TWENTY THREE THOUSAND and rising.
"Twenty-three-thousand bid it now, 24,willyagimme24,tamakeit24,tabidita24?"
The room was dead silent as heads turned to watch Frost's reaction.

Frost raises her card. She wasn't going to let a chance for clues pass her by. She thinks to herself, ("this may be for an obsession for them but for us it is their future I am trying to find.") She says aloud, "24000B!" Aurora now knew that this 24000B was probably the one to gain the books. a future was worth no value but the value you give it. If she had the will to do so, she would placed it all on the line. For her, history was the key to this cold problem of the warmer folk.
((Current max is 38000B. Current spending is 12000B Frost and 12000B Aldorn. Current Bid is 24000B.))

Starfall smirks and listens to the voices inside, fighting over what is for sale. The current one sounds like it is a book of some sorts, and the bidding was going furiously. "I'll be right back, Octavia... That is, unless you can keep up." He smiled slyly at his beloved and took off, running from the rooftops to meet up at the auction. Perched on a wire, he observed the bidders until finally, he moved down the side of the building and into the crowd, where he tried his best to look like a patron. He stayed silent as he eyed the book and a certain mare of frost that, even though she seemed stoic, had a sense of needing the books. She will be eaten alive by these bidders... He stayed back, until the opportunity came to him. "40,000 bits!" he yelled out with a satisfied look on his face.
(( I wanted to develop the storyline just a bit. If you'd let me, you might like where this goes.
House of Élire vaults: 4,981,357 bits Asterian's accounts: 537,825 bits
Threw out some random numbers. Noble's got to have some spending money, right? XD))

Frost, when the words of the new bidder were heard, backed down from the bidding. She knew when she was beaten. Frost give back to Aldorn the 25k bits he lent her and says, " I will talk to ya in a bit. I need a spa treatment to fix the mood am now in. Dang nobles and their spending habits. I guess we will have to talk to the winner. Please do me a favor and see who wins. I will be at the spa getting myself pampered for a bit." She lets out a sad sigh before heading out to the spa to get her spa treatment. {requested spa treatment} full treatment or at least the following Relaxing spa bath Ice cold water Hoofacure Wing Preening Mud Bath with Mud Mask Full Massage
((Max bid was 38k so she backed down. She would have to ask the one who won this one. why Asterian why? it is because of you that she would be eaten alive. you out bid her max bid by 2K. That is low. By the way the GM had posted, she could have won the bid at 24K.))

Aldorn nods and takes back his bits. He puts them back into his pack. What a shame. To lose the bid against a worthless noble whose purpose is to spend to their heart's content. And we were so close too. He watches Frost leave the building. He listens in on the auctioneer, waiting the chance to find out on the winner of the bid. He puts on his mask and waits.

(( Trust me; you'll see where this goes. ))
The stallion looked behind as the frost mare began to leave, but he stood in the path of the mare's exit. "Hold on, milady," he whispered. "You looked interested in those books. May I ask why?"

frost looked to him and says, "You don't know. Ask the foals fillies and colts over there. I just got back with them not to long ago. As for why on the books that is for one to know and the other to find out. I had them you know. 24000B and the final one was already sweeting at 23000B. Then you had to come and place a bid that out paced my max bid by 2000. I would say low blow. Now if you will excuse me I need to calm myself down. I would like to talk with you or who else wins them later. I will tell you this though, Have you given up on the world I come from? because I haven't and as sure as I am about my friends I will not let me home down either. My name is Frost Nova and I hail form the city of Talos." After that frost by passed the young colt and headed out to the spa.
