The auctioneer's gavel pounded, and the stag looked up for a moment before turning back to Frost. "Oh, I can think of a few things that might interest a newcomer like yourself, things that you can't just get on the market, not good-quality at any rate. The rarer kinds of magical items, for one. Talismans, rare potion ingredients like Ice Drake scales or Snowberry branches, some forgotten amulet or another. If you're the collector type, looking for some clues, there might be a few maps and diaries; I distinctly remember his highness the Duke himself coming down here once to bid on Princess Twilight Sparkle's friendship notes. He won the auction, of course, and nobody actually tried to contest him; the collection is in the Fancy Library in the government district, I think. And of course niche items like the ones you brought in, if you're into that sort of thing. There's a vintage jar of Zap Apple Jam floating around somewhere, I think; last I heard, it was going to be offered at something around a billion bits per drop."
Octavia gasped as the stallion kissed her, then grabbed him in an embrace, kissing him back long and hard before letting go again, smirking triumphantly. "You knew I was going to make it, didn't you? That's why you brought me up there in the first place..."
Aldorn was lucky enough to overhear a small herd of foals, fawns, kids and chicks rushing by and chattering excitedly about wonderbolt statues going up for sale at the auction house. Seeing as that the adults and foals they had rescued earlier certainly had no such items, and Frost seemed the collector sort, perhaps she might be the one selling these curiosities for a jaunt at a spa or something.

Frost says, "Thanks I might ask the duke if I could look at them. I have an item that I didn't put up because it was a clue left for the ones searching by Fluttershy herself, at her cottage. But first I will see what sales and see if I can get some more towards the clues we have already. Thanks for the help. I hope your children grow strong." Frost watches the auction to see if anything relating to the 6 or the royal sisters, cadence or even the lost empire shows up.
((Frost is now checking the auction for clues. She knows she might get allot for what she put up, even after the 10% loss for auction fees. lost empire = crystal empire.))

Aldorn heads towards the auction house to find Frost, as well as get rid of some loot he found from the surface. Hopefully she has found some clues to the answers of which we seek. And I may show her this new device I have replicated. It may prove useful to her in the near future.

When the kiss finally ended, Asterian pulled back with a smirk and a light blush on his cheeks. He listened to Octavia's question before responding, "Everypony is capable of greatness. It just takes letting go of your fears and doubts..." He then lay back as he did before, looking at the cavern ceiling. "Octavia... Do you remember life before the Blizzard? Do you remember what it was like to see the sun? Actual sunlight?"

Aldorn saw Frost sitting rather obviously among the more well-dressed members of the audience, near the front of the room where the auctioneers were banging their gavels and talking up the crowd while describing each time up for sale. She was watching each item attentively, apparently still looking for clues just like he was.
Unfortunately, it didn't look like there was anything particularly interesting on the block, at least not so far. A few antique pieces of armor, a painting of the Duke, spare wheels from Luna's chariot, a few bottles of liquid rainbow from the original Rainbow Falls, old books on Equestrian history... although the books on history might be useful, on second thought.
Octavia lay back on the roof, looking up at the illusory "sky" as the Sun Crystals shone down on them. "To be honest... I haven't thought much about it. I mean... it's..."
She couldn't bring herself to say it. She couldn't. She couldn't just say it out loud, that there was no hope left. But it showed in her voice, and she looked away sadly.
"...why do you ask?"

Asterian looked at the mare laying next to him. "Well... I remember everything. I remember playing the meadows and enjoying the city. I remember what real sunlight felt like on my face... I remember the stars and the weather, the wonders of the mountains...
I just can't help but feel like it's not lost to us. Like... something will happen and restore our world..."

Frost decides to bids on the history books. Something about the history of them being part of fluttershy's note. she will use about half of her gained money from the items she sells to pay for them so on average, she might win them.
{Bidding on the following Items:}Old Equestrian History Books.

Aldorn goes over to where Frost is. He takes his place next to her. "It seems that you blend in well with the locals here. Have you found anything that is of use to us? Any clues regarding what Fluttershy's note mentioned?" He takes a look at the items being sold, then at the auctioneers. "I have something for you once you are done here. I rather not attract a crowd towards us."

Frost says, "Yes I have. I am Currently trying to gain the history books here at the auction and it seams the lord of this place also has some in his personal collection. I am also selling some of the things I had collected during my travels for places such as this, so they don't forget the world above."
Frost senses something cold near or on Aldorn. She says, "You have something cold on or near you. May I ask as to why you would have such a thing?"
Frost continues to watch the auction and bids on the history books to try and gain them, while waiting for Aldorn's response.
((value willing to pay is listed in previous post. But will repost it here. She is willing to spend up to half of what she makes from the other items she posted to get the books. Frost has a sense for the cold so when Aldorn got close enough she sensed the cold device he has on him, but not its exact location. This ability only functions when she is in an area of heat or near such an area where cold and heat are distinguishable.))

Aldorn glances at Frost. "You seem to have noticed, despite the fact that it isn't on. Better if I show you what I made than to tell you. I don't want somepony to hear something they don't like." He goes through his pack and takes out some notes and gives them to Frost. It mentions the research on elementals, more specifically on ice elementals. It also mentions an idea of a reversed engineered heating unit, a cooling unit. "A friend of mine had an idea of creating something like this but never had the chance to. He only made the heating unit for me, an advanced unit from the original ones. He had researched elemental ponies before this whole Ice Age even began. When it came, he thought of creating something for the ice elementals in the case that the Ice Age would end. This is his result." Takes out the cooling unit, which looks similar to the heater Aldorn has on. It doesn't seem to be online at the moment.

Frost looks as if she is about to make a spectacle of herself, but quickly changes her mind. Frost then just nods to Aldorn and says, "Ok. I can fully wait till after this. Besides my reaction would cause quite the commotion and you did say you didn't want unwanted attention. But for now I will say thanks. Also if you are wondering how I could sense it. even if a device isn't active, isn't its core still cold? I can sense cold in places of great temperature difference. Out in the cold I can sense heat. that was how we where able to quickly find those we were looking for before. I saw the fading heat of their hoof steps in the snow. It is a good ability to have when normal tracking methods don't work."
Frost continues her watching of the auction and trying to claim the history books.

Octavia nibbled on her lips, considering Asterian's words. She didn't know what to say, to be honest. The thought had just never occurred to her, and she'd almost managed to make herself forget about the Outside and her past life, like most of the others down here made an effort to do. End the Ice? It sounded insane, impossible... but was it?
She thought back to the legends and myths she had heard and read about as a foal. How did they stop the eternal winter last time? With the Fires of Friendship. But they were plenty friendly here, weren't they? It's not as if they were actively trying to keep ponies out; the gate was just there to protect them from the cold and random ice monsters that came by now and then. Was it just that they weren't doing enough? As far as she knew, they had pretty much all the races in Equestria accounted for, except maybe minotaurs, but then there hadn't really been that many minotaurs around to begin with, and she was sure she saw one or two somewhere in the Duchy a few weeks ago.
The mare spoke slowly, considering her words. "That is... a possibility, I do admit. It's not... impossible for something to happen which might bring back summer. But what could it be? I mean, we've all banded together here, and I still don't exactly see a giant pink heart made of fire burning away the cold."
When Frost's auction was finished, she had received 26000B total - 300 for the statue, 14000 for the autographed Daring Doo set, 4000 for the Sun Guard set, 500 for the spears, 6000 for the Lunar set, 300 for the manual and 900 for the guide. It was quite a pretty penny, though not exactly enough to purchase a home in the more well-to-do suburbs of the city, of course.
It was, however, enough for several luxury treatments at the spas, and for equipment when heading back out. Unfortunately, the historical book collection was being valued at around 12000B already, and quite a few well-heeled individuals were bidding up its price.

Asterian shrugged and contemplated Octavia's response. Truly, it was perplexing.
"I am not so sure this is being caused by windigoes, Octavia, although you have a point..." He grabbed Octavia's hoof gently as he looked at her. "It does not matter right now. What does matter is that you and I are together."

((You do know she had a complete set of wonderbolt books with the guide and manual.))
frost shakes her head and says, "Darn, wont be able to see if those books had any clues. Darn it, I was so close too. I guess I will try again next time." Frost stops biding for the books when the value exceeds her 13000B marker.
she looks a little down about not being able to check them for clues to go with Fluttershy's note. Then brightens up again when an idea hits her. She waits to see who wins the books. She says to Aldorn, "I hope ya don't mind, Aldorn. I think we should wait this last auction out and then go have a talk to who wins the books. We still might be able to find answers to Fluttershy's old note about looking to our past."

Aldorn looks at Frost in a bit of a disappointment. "Giving up like that already? If you needed some bits you could have just asked." Aldorn reaches into his pack and pulls out a large pouch of what seems to be bits. Aldorn grins and opens up the pouch to show Frost. "You can have all 25000 bits. It'd be much easier and faster if we have those books than just asking the winner of the bid. Though, some of them do have bits of ice stuck to them and haven't melted yet. I also had a little more than 25000 but I rented a forge to create that device."
