The seemingly frail old man in faded blue robes smiled from atop Nellie. His hands were withered, his hare was white, and his beard was long and rough, but there was a cunning in his eyes, and Words of Power upon his lips.
"Greetings unto you, Lord Emural. I am called Varius Paragonis the Blue, Archmage of the High Council of Wizards of a little remnant of civilization the locals have taken to calling the 'City of Wonders'. The Merlin of our order, Lord Silvian, has had communications with the Remnants of the Lost Civilization from the last Ice Age, though it is... slightly more difficult now than of a few centuries prior to reach the ends of this little planet. Apologies if I cannot quite recall the specifics of the Dark Realm you speak of at the moment, though I have heard of it and quite probably do know of it, and would remember given some thought and time."
"And I am called Petronella Brown, Geomancer of the City of Wonders. Long has it been since my race passed through the Mirror, and every day there is something new to learn of the world. I greet you in peace, and would be honored to work with you on this journey, if you will deign to make such a pact of mutual defense."

"I know of your names and the purpose of this quest. But you do not know of me. I am a Dark Lord, like that of Bane's enemy, but I have not aligned myself with the Dark Queen, or Dark Mother. The difference between those of the Dark Mother and the Dark Lords is that we are simple dark shadows with certain items that keep these shadows together. The Dark Mother's children are twisted creations and monstrosities, their weapons and armor are made of flesh and bones, and even they themselves are similar."
Emural looks at Asha. "You could say that I am a dual spirit, but my physical body was damaged by one of the Dark Children. Damaged to the point where I would need a host to hide in while my body regenerates or else I would have perished. Luckily Bane found me and let my soul enter his body. My original body dispersed but this new body I have created is much better suited for such attacks against the Dark Children, and seeing how Bane is on a quest to fight to Dark Children, I 'tagged' along with him to help fight in this cause. With the sword of Aldorn, I am able to turn into my physical form and fight. We can also change back to Bane's physical form once my task is done."
He looks at Nellie. "As for this mutual defense you proposed, I agree to this pact. But I have listened in on this before we have switched. Bane is also listening in right now and he can speak to us."
"Yes, I could."

Asha says, "About how long now before we get to the city or our orb near it? I know that spell was way to flashy for somepony not to notice it. it is one of my weakest spells very minor injury with a temporary blindness to those that are blind able and don't protect themselves fast enough." Asha most as the group moves. For the most part, her negative shift in temperament, from having to use offensive magic in a duel, has gone away.

Emural looks at Asha. "About that spell. Although it may have been weak, a misread or unreadable spell proves much of a danger to Bane. He was lucky it was weak and not a much stronger one, otherwise Aldorn would have reacted sooner and transformed Bane to me in an instant. If that didn't happen, Bane would have perished. Aldorn has the capabilities of reading spells once they are absorbed into the sword of any form. Once the spell has been read, it can be used safely against any opponents at double the power. Aldorn can turn a weak spell into a standard one if read successfully. However, due to the quickness of events and Bane's carelessness, the spell left Bane drained of his energy and kept the spell weak. Though that may have been his intention, I am not sure."
"It was my intention to keep it weak. Don't want to start blinding people with a modified weak spell, especially when they start to comprehend Aldorn's true nature, and probably his history. Though, I should have read how strong or weak the spell is first before I use it. But I don't use dangerous, advanced spells during a sparring match. Only in battles or Arena matches. You should come to the Arena and fight with us, you have some amazing potential. Of course you will have to learn how to use a realm portal and find a portal hot spot to use."

Asha says, "I don't fight for sport. I may have the potential, but I would rather use it to protect others then to gain glory and fame. It is the reason I joined the guard in the first place. the second reason was I never really was good at my father's alchemy line of work. I would always get the jitters when working in a lab."

"I doubt she knows the Arena in the realms of Draconika."
"Maybe I should have been more specific on what I mean, the 'Arena'."
"What he means is that the Arena is a place for warriors, rouges, rangers, wizards, and all sorts of fighters get together for a social meet or to fight one another. One can fight another in a duel. Anyone who doesn't fight rarely visits the Arena. Its not a place of sport or glory. It is a social meet for all those that can fight and possibly become allies in case of another realm war or invasion." Emural looks down into the insides of himself as if there is someone else there.
"We seem to have forgotten that 'He' can talk freely whenever we change. The one that spoke is Aldorn himself, the Legendary Master Blacksmith of Blacksmith's Way and maker of the shapeshifting sword."

Asha seams impressed by the sword. She says, "I never thought of it like that. Guess my thoughts on the term 'Arena' are a bit misplaced."

Archmage Lord Paragonis smiled slightly, then turned to Asha. "In answer to your question, we are approximately sixty-six miles from Orod Khazad. I am hoping to encounter a caravan of some sort soon. On that note, would you please do us a favor and scout ahead to look for one? This highway is usually well-traveled, and I cannot imagine why it would be so empty at this time of the day..."

Asha nods taking to the air once more. This time instead of storm katana in both hands she is dual wielding mana saber(main Hand) and storm katana(off hand). She bolts ahead of the group like a natural flier, despite the fact she has prosthetic wings.

The archmage had been frighteningly accurate in his most dour predictions, which was slightly disheartening as Asha saw the sun beginning to set. Some miles before her, she could see a small caravan of covered wagons, mostly dwarf and halfling, and the flames of a bonfire and waving torches. The wagons had been circled into a defensive barrier, and she could see the figures of goblins, giant spiders, wargs, and even dragons scurrying like ants to attack the desperate travelers. Faint pops and flashes of light evidenced the use of powerful dwarf-engines and dwarf-magic in an attempt to drive back the attackers, to no avail. What on earth were they carrying? No matter; they were certain not to hold out for much longer on their own. They needed help, and quickly!

Asha returns to the group quickly and says, "A few miles dead ahead. A small caravan is being attacked. They don't look like they can hold much longer. Catch up when you can I am going to go ahead and inform the caravan of your impending arrival. I will also add my power to theirs to help hold till you get there. I am fast for a reason." after that she bolts forward this time to get to the caravan and possibly add to their aid. with the light fading she needed a distraction for the enemy to allow the caravan to regroup. when she gets with in long spell range she switches to her mana shield and saber. at medium range she engages with the spell Fire bolt. She targets what she feels is the most vulnerable target and one that would also allow her easy access to get to the caravan. ((Asha is air born. So her speed is topped off with her flight and the fact most of her enemies are grounded. With flight being more of a mere thought to her, she can focus on the combat and not her flying skills.))
{Fire Bolt} Spell level: 2 Range: Medium Target: single effect: this 2 and 1/2 foot wide orb is launched at the speed of which one would be traveling. Select a target and use this ability. If you hit, ranged touch attack, This ability deals fire damage to the target and creates a bright red/orange explosion to create the illusion of it being a higher grade AoE spell but is actually only able to hit one target.

Nellie whinnied, rearing and galloping the rest of the way, hot behind the heels of Asha with Paragonis hanging on grimly.
Asha's fire bolt slammed into a group of smaller goblins who were between her and the caravan, making quick work of the disgusting tumor-covered creatures as they screamed and caused mayhem among the enemy ranks. This, of course, got the various creatures to now focus on the newcomer, and Asha found herself in the midst of a hail of goblin-spears and dragonfire blasts.
"Oy, lassie! Watch it fur th' spider on yer reit, an' duck now!"
A large portable dwarf-engine clacked, hissed and boomed loudly as a glob of molten metal went tearing past Asha and into a dragon, eliciting a roar of rage and pain. Dragons might be invulnerable to fire, but they were a bit more vulnerable to impact than most stories would tell, especially when that impact came from the barrel of a mithril dwarf-engine forged in the great forges at the heart of Orod Khazad.
The halflings let loose another hail of arrows, expertly avoiding the mage-knight while taking down more of the giant spiders.

Asha is quick in the air and with her mana shield and saber out she can focus on her magic while instinct focuses her flight. she takes the gap and lands near the caravan she focus her mana into the shield and holds it out towards the enemy and says, " Flash and Sting: Storm Lightning." {Storm Lightning} This ability channels the very nature of a Pegasus. Using their internal mana as a source the wielder can call forth the furry of the storm's lightning. This ability strikes at random enemy targets the flash blinding then. this ability is as strong as the Pegasus using it. 25% chance to cause fatigue in wielder.

Emural's mask disappears into the darkness and his whole body turns to shadows. He reappears behind the dragon using its shadow. A dark mist appears around his right hand. It forms itself in the shape of a sword and hardens itself like that of black steel. Emural raises his left hand towards the dragon and, all of a sudden, darkness bursts from the dragon's shadow and begins surround it, consuming the dragon in darkness. "Consumed in darkness. Servant to the shadows. Join my power and you shall be free from the light."
The darkness completely surrounds the dragon and slowly consumes it.

As the group converged on the caravan, Fides and Silentium rode straight through the hole Asha had torn in the hostile groups. The pair dodged personnel and equipment within the surrounded caravan and quickly came out the other side to immediately supplement their defenses. Silentium dismounted, took a few paces ahead of a Dwarven engine, and firmly planted his shield in the ground. Fides extended his lance and prepared to charge from Silentium's flank to counterattack whatever charge was bound to come. Fides was physically right where he should be, but he felt a powerful chill of fear run down his spine as he waited.
