Shallow Heart was listening as she watched the cells struggle to hold their mimicking ability before they gave out from being separated from the body.
She looks to Chrysteel. "It looks like you're becoming more pony than changeling over time. It doesn't look like you'll become 100% pony, but more pony than changeling by the looks of it. To be sure I'd need to check one more thing. If I could get your permission, I can do a...gynecology exam." she blushes a little.

A small smirk appeared on Blue's lip. "Oh, don't worry, i got extra care from your comrades. Shattered bones, torn muscles and so on. It's not showing just because i'm one hay of a healer. Now, am i here allowed to move freely? And, i need to talk to them somewhere a bit more private, if there isn't such a place here this whole trip was pointless." Blue explained and looked around. |

Chrysteel also blushes at that word, "So, I am starting lose touch with the changeling half of me. Sure you can, but do please be careful." Chrysteel is wondering why now is this happening. What could be causing it?

Shallow Heart goes through with the exam and charts up the results and presents them to Chrysteel.
"Okay...so...you are definitely more pony than changeling. Most of your genes like your brain, your lungs, those have dominant changeling genes. Your digestive and reproductive systems however have dominant pony genes, so over time your body has evolved itself to better suit the ability to live as a pony more than a changeling. Changelings can conserve energy far better than ponies can. Your body is, well I think, it's trying to save energy by not allowing you to change forms for your upcoming estrus cycle."

Chrysteel takes a moment to absorb this new information. she finally says with a look of 'hu-oh mom's going to be pissed.' on her mussel, "So what your saying is that my own body is trying to conserve energy for the bringing of new life into the world, in the same manor as the ponies? Are you saying that I will also bear children like them, because of this or is there something I am not taking into account here? Also what do you mean there is an unknown gene in my genetic strain." Chrysteel is both surprised and uncertain about the fact she is acting in a similar manor to a pony about to enter their first season. she also seams to be upset that her mother may find out that she is not in fact a full changeling and would lower her place in the hive because of this. "what do I do, caretaker? If mother finds out I think she would more or less have me banished for not living up to the ideals of the hive. This is starting to freak me out." Right after Chrysteel says that she faints giving a very loud thud from within the examination room she is in.

Shallow gasps after Chrysteel had fainted and picks her up, laying her on the examination bed.
"Those are some thought provoking questions....I don't know what we'll tell the queen."
She sighs and takes a look back through the microscope at Chrsyteel's blood. "And I really don't know what this means. I wonder if it's a cancer cell of some kind. I've never actually looked at one before."

"I'm afraid I'll need to stay with you wherever you go. If you absolutely need privacy, we'll find a small room for you and whoever else needs to be inside. Only because XII had requested this of you." Blue sighed. "Very well, we'll see." She looked around and walked up to the nearest pony that seemed to be on a break. "Are you ok?" she asked carefully and examined the pony, and tried to figure out how will she come about this whole thing by this pony's reaction. |

The mare jumps and looks at Blue.
"What are you doing? Get back to work before they-" "Relax, just this once you get a minute's break to answer some questions." Blue's changeling escort interrupts. The mare stares for a moment and sets down her pick. "What do you want?" she asks with a fearful look.

"Her? um...well...I heard stuff mostly. I was mining...like I always am...and I suddenly heard somepony shout out loudly, followed by the sound of a pickaxe being tossed. I looked where it landed and saw blood on it, but I don't know who hit her. I didn't see anything beyond some changelings carrying her off and replacing her." |

{Shallow Hearts Analyzing of the Blood Sample.}
While Shallow Heart is analyzing the blood sample of Chrysteel. It has the usual cells associated with both pony magic and changeling love storage cells. She also finds the cells common with a changeling who has already undergone their first chrysalis evolution. These cells hold the code needed for a changeling to undergo both the first and second stage of the evolution chrysalis. However there is a distinct lack of Love consumption cells that provide much of the changeling's need to feed in order to survive. In their place is a cell type she has never seen before in any current or past changeling.
Upon closer examination of the unknown cell, the previous thought of it being a cancer cell was found to be a bust. in no way shape form or fashion was this cell being attacked by the bodies known immune system. For a matter of fact, in some way, this unknown cell has aided the immune system. This cell also, when it draws near to the love storage and magic storage cells, seams to have the effect of making the cells replicate themselves.
The life bond cells common to changelings with the love consumption cells are also attached to this unknown cell as if it has taken the place of the consumption cells.
The cells spoken of earlier used for chrysalis evolution also have a similar reaction when drawing near to the unknown cell. It is plausible to assume that this unknown cell may be preparing Chrysteel for a chrysalis evolution. But the bigger question remains. Why is this unknown cell replicating the love storage and magic storage cells?
A closer look at the new cells generated by a near close contact with the unknown cell has shown that these new storage cells are full of love and magic energy but are also in a dormant state.
Chrysteel's current storage cell count is double that normal for her rank and class within the hive. Despite this higher storage cell count, Chrysteel is suffering from her body readying itself for her coming estrus. half of the cells are in this dormant state.
From all of this combined if Chrysteel does indeed go threw a chrysalis evolution she may become equal to or stronger to the queen chrysalis herself.
One final thing of note, during the last evolution chrysalis that Chrysteel underwent, she did not at all lose any of her life cell count. In fact, her life cell (The cells that determine a changeling's life span and are usually attached to the love consumption cells.) count actually increased after she went through the evolution chrysalis.
===In the examination room=== It has been two hours from the time Chrysteel fainted and Shallow took another look at Chrysteel's blood sample again. Chrysteel after that time has passed finally comes too. " Oh my head. I feel as if I hit my head against a large stone. What happened, Caretaker? Did you finish my examination already?" Chrysteel knowing she currently has a head ache, decides it is good to take it slow and slowly raises herself from the table. it seams she may not remember her little episode from before her black out. |

Shallow Heart takes a look at Chrysteel and nods. "Yes, we were about finished before you fainted." she chuckles. "I hope you don't mind but I took a couple extra blood samples to keep around. The one I took from you had...expired when I took my attention elsewhere."

"Thank you very much, have a nice day." Blue said, still smiling, and stood up, walking deeper into the mine, followed no doubt by her changeling shadow. As she walked deeper she watched how the ponies slaved, it upset her a lot but she tried to hide it, as much as possible. "Why don't they at least have helms?" she whispered to herself. Suddenly she noticed a pony being lashed by several changelings and she couldn't just watch. She walked up close, charged her horn and surrounded the pony in a bright red shield, while saying "Excuse me, but i need to question this slave.", even if this one didn't know anything she just needed to stop this.
