Blue rubbed her forehead. "So if i get this correctly, magic of the firsts was closely tied to words, unlike ours more tied to thoughts, emotions and so on. How effective was this magic? And couldn't anyone cause something by accidentally saying the wrong word?" she questioned while finishing a few more notes. She briefly looked over the pages she has already filled with text. Wow, this is heavy... a sigh of exhaustion left her mouth.

"Yes, the magic of the First was more of words than thoughts. Remember, the Makers used the same exact words to build the universe and have taught the First a revision version of those words to make sure they don't end up making new life forms or blowing themselves up. There is a reason why the Makers are watching over the First, they never know what might happen to their new creations, like a scientist to his, or her, science project. Always keep a constant watch and make sure something doesn't go wrong. As for how effective this magic was, it was very effective. Although a revised version was given to the First it was still much... imaginative one could say. Though there were no necromancy involved. A good thing too, those kinds of magic are reserved to only the Makers of Life and Death. Now, for the accidental.... again, why do you think the Makers kept watch over their creations? To make sure something like that doesn't happen. When you are taught a language and know it by heart, you can never go wrong. And besides, it would be humiliating to you and the rest of your race if you were to say the wrong word and end up blasting a hole in the planet in front of a Maker. The Makers kept constant watch and interaction, which you may learn, became my kind's downfall." Bane becomes silent for a bit before moving on. He goes to his desk and picks up something. He looks at it for a bit, then sets it down. He looks at the students and begins to speak.
"I know this is a bit heavy on most of you but this is how I have learned magic.... especially when I became the Fifth and last Ancient Emperor of the Ancient Empire. It was to be expected that I carry on my kind's history and magic to the next generation, now I teach it to you. At least you have the time to catch a break and clear up any confusion left in your mind. So then, any more questions?"

Blue closed her eyes and leaned back a bit. "No more questions for now." she said with a sigh. A familiar phrase echoing in her head as her thoughts swirled. The more you say, the more i hear. They are always watching. Suddenly she opened her eyes wide and stared blankly for a second, before taking up the self filling quill and a blank paper. As fast as she could she wrote down the idea she just got, before she could forget it. The scripture resembled a summoning spell, using words as well as thoughts and a summoning ring.

Asterian peered at Blue's notes on the scroll for a second, noticing that she had begun work on his spell he deciphered. "You know, this spell is a spell designed for espionage provocateurs, right?" He pointed out a small extension of the scroll that he had copied and read, "In umbra latitare. That means 'in the shadow,' but then this bit here reads 'Manete' which means 'stay.' Stay in the shadow. It's a spell for something of the sort..."

Blue looked at Asterian with a sort of blank look. "Oh?" She shook her head to snap out of her brainstorm for a moment. "Oh, yeah, i know, you said it earlier. This isn't that spell, i just got an idea for a new one. It combines unicorn magic with scriptures and words. Have to write it down before i forget it, I'm not even sure what it's supposed to do." She blushed a bit and smiled, then added a few more notes and tapped her chin. "Er... does this look like anything?" She asked and held the paper up with a levitation spell so that Asterian can get a good look.

"With no more questions, we will now begin a ten minute break for you all to have your mind a bit of rest and recollect yourself before we proceed forward. If you wish to press forward then call in a vote and see if the majority of you wants to proceed forward. If you have any questions that you would like to ask but wish not to say it out loud, come to my desk and ask me." Bane goes to his teacher's desk and sits down. He lays his head down for a moment before raising it back home, he seems to be a bit tired from all of this. "You may also share notes. Some of you may have missed something but the other has not. It's a good experience to find out what you may have missed out for a lot of the information on the history I gave you all was heavy on your minds, and may have not made any sense to you."

Blue goes through her notes a few times and then rests her head on the table. "A break sounds nice." She whispered and remained motionless for a few minutes. Then she reached into her saddlebag to take out a bottle of a very potent energy drink. She took a few big gulps of the sugar heavy liquid and cringed a bit.

Asterian stood up and walked towards the door. "Excuse me," he said. He had something partially concealed beneath his robes as he exited the room and walked into the deserted hallway. He took out the scroll for the spell schematic and recited the incantation silently. Stay in the shadow... His body began to fade into nothingness, disappearing into a translucent form. "Whoa... Heh, well now..." He watched as his body completely faded. Even his magical aura was nowhere to be found. He was completely invisible, save the obvious floating scroll, which he quickly tucked away in his robes, concealing it and going incognito. "This'll be fun..."

The ten minute mark expires and Bane gets up from his desk and walks to the front of the class, to the projector. "Time is up, please be ready for the next subject in history. For we will be going through the Age of the Ancients. In this subject, we will learn about the Ancients, the Ancient Empire, how Ancient Magic and technology came to be, and the Fall of the Ancient Empire." The projector resumes its course and pauses to the point where we are about to see the start of the Ancient Age. Bane waits for everypony to get back to their desks and be ready to learn.

"Nothing, yet. You're pretty much just on time." Blue answered and prepared a lot of empty papers in advance.

Bane surveys the class and nods. "Then let us begin." The projector resumes and shows the start of second age. It shows other species being born into the world after the First made the deal and was split into 3 races. "After the deal was made between the First and the Makers, other species were being made into the world: the dragons, the diamond dogs, the changelings, and many others. It also changed the alicorn race and created 3 more races in the process. The 3 new races are Earth, Pegasus, and Unicorn. These are the Ancients, or the Crunikcs in Ancient tongue. When the deal was made between the Makers and the First, the Ancients recieved less attention from the Makers. This was because they were directing their attention towards the other species created on this world. So half of the time, we were on our own. Unlike most of the species created during the Second Age, we would live for a thousand years. After reaching that point, we would turn into nothing more than the sands of time, our very being would be no more; no soul, no body, no mind. That was our price. However, like many races, we started from scratch and started to build a civilization for ourselves." The projector shows the Ancients at the start of the Second Age and shows how they die once they either reach 1,000 years of age or dying from some other cause. It also shows the Ancients beginning their own civilization.
"For a few hundred years we were a.... tribe of sorts. We had villages near the river, another in the mountains, and the other in a forest. But that all changed when the Ancients mined too deep into the mountains and found something that changed the Ancients forever: energy crystals." The projector shows the locations of the villages, then moves onto the the discovery of the energy crystals. "These energy crystals were extroadinary powerful and were able to absorb and recycle energy around them, converting to the purest form of energy there is. There is one flaw to these crystals, however, they were highly unstable. A single crack in these crystals would make them explode and any living thing in its radius would be erased from existence." The projector shows the energy crystals and how they absorb, recycle, and convert energy. It also showed the crystals also releasing some of that energy safely into the enviroment. The projector changes, showing what happens if the crystal was to be cracked: the energy crystal appears with a crack and a surge of pure energy bursts out of it. The crystal shatters and the deadly concentration of pure energy appears as a wave, it spreads out, showing how large the blast radius is. A living thing, a plant, is placed into the blast radius and shows what happens if the energy wave was to touch it. The energy wave passes through the plant and the plant begins to dissolve into nothing, erased from existance. "This is what happens if you don't handle these crystals with care, an Ancient made that mistake and was gone from existance. So the rest handled the crystals with extra care, knowing that a single crack would mean their doom. Despite the danger presented to them, they used these crystals to advanced to an age far beyond the others. This was the start of the Ancient Empire."

Asterian hastily scribed notes on a blank sheet, absorbing the data set before him like a sponge to water.
He was particularly intrigued about the crystals and the energy involved. Asterian raised his hoof after Bane's sentence on the dissolving of the Ancient.
