NAME
Minabe Shinji (Western order: Shinji Minabe) [Was this really necessary? -Minabe]
GENDER
Male
AGE
17
RACE
Human
APPEARANCE
Shinji is 5’9”, 69 kilograms [or 152 pounds, since apparently people who use the imperial system read this; also last time I checked I was 68 kg -Minabe]; he has jet black hair and dark brown eyes. His facial features are more sharp than rough (though he has a smaller-than-average nose) [someone really took the time to notice this huh -Minabe]. His voice is somewhere between low tenor and high baritone. Shinji does decently at sports (he does play basketball in his free time) [I'll let this one slide for now -Minabe] so he has some muscle mass.
He is capable of basic parkour (vaulting, climbing, and landing properly to reduce pain from falls), but his gun’s weight penalizes his ability to run and do parkour.
PERSONALITY
Shinji is one of the top 10 in his class, so it goes without saying that he’s quick to pick up on things and diligent—at least, when he wants to be. [To whoever wrote this: I will find you -Minabe] His calmness extends outside of combat, too.
Interaction-wise, Shinji is very casual, even to superiors (unless he knows the superior doesn’t like being treated that way). He likes to downplay what he actually knows as his supposed “lack of knowledge” often results in humorous irony. He is brutally honest to a fault. [someone at management knows me too well. Why -Minabe]
He’s most infamous for his deadpan style of humor and propensity for sarcasm, much of which stems from his knowledge of (and insults toward) anime, manga, video game, and Hollywood logic. [I'm clapping right now, whoever did this really is highlighting all the wrong things about me. Thankfully I can't find the edit log -Minabe] He is very self-aware and is quick to point out that what works in media almost never works in real life. He loves to mock and satirize tropes—but when they do actually work, he is flabbergasted.
The second thing Shinji is infamous for is his flirting. Though he rarely hangs around female classmates, he often makes time for bothering female coworkers. [OH COME ON. HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS -MINABE]
“Forward” is almost an understatement when describing his behavior around them (it verges on creepy actually) [I'm really starting to wonder if you guys have nothing to do except watch security feeds -Minabe]. No matter how important the situation is, he will take time to describe girls he encounters in great detail [What is this -Minabe]. With his deadpan style of delivery and his lack of facial expression whatsoever, he has been known to do the following: ask female members of the team on dates; call them love-related nicknames (i.e. “love”, “darling”, “sweetie”); admire the texture of their hands as he's running away from something with them; make comments about their appearance or presentation during casual talk (i.e. “I’ll get those documents into those lovely hands of yours by 5”); the list goes on. [is there some sort of monitoring policy that I don't know about? Just kidding, I've read the book 3 times and I haven't found anything to justify this kind of surveillance. Keep on giggling secretly to yourselves about my currently nonexistent love life -Minabe]
He actually isn’t romantically interested in his team members; acting casual and absurd is his way of keeping himself calm. He thinks that his flirting is ridiculous enough to the point where the girls won’t take him seriously. [oh okay, I thought you guys were going to say "In fact it's the only way he keeps himself calm" next. I think I'm justified in thinking that -Minabe] Ideally, he wants the girls to actually flirt back [no I don't -Minabe]; in his reasoning, doing something absurd allows him and his teammates to temporarily take their mind off the often morbid and dark work they handle. Of course, if the girl misunderstands his intent, both he and the unfortunate victim of his “forward” comments find themselves in a very awkward and stressful dilemma. [You say this like it's happened before. FYI it hasn't -Minabe]
In the event they consider his actions “harassment” and “battery” instead of “forward”, he will stop. Shinji is not interested in abusing girls, and he draws the line at doing things that make it look like he has a prurient interest in them. He finds girls who are cute a good distraction from his overbearing studies and fieldwork, and toys with them to see if he can get something cute to happen, but his interest in them is not meant to be salacious. [Finally, something that's accurate. -Minabe]
OCCUPATION
Officer [duh -Minabe]
BIOGRAPHY

[Higher-ups and I have agreed that this information is private and only available on a "need-to-know" basis. I don't know you, editor(s), so I don't think you need to know. We clear? -Minabe]
INVENTORY
Depends on whether or not he's on mission. When off-duty he always has his phone and headphones equipped.
When on-duty, he is never seen without his sniper rifle, disassembled or not.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Because the rifle can tap into his powerpoints, all of Shinji’s powers involve channeling points into his gun to alter its functionality.
Since he can command pieces of the gun to float, Shinji can mentally command them to separate from the gun and float over a certain location to mark targets of interest (at no PP cost). When aiming near a point he marked, the piece will magnetically pull the gun to the location, move out of the way so he can see the location or target, and position itself near the scope or sight within his field of vision. After he aims away, the piece will return to its original location until he unmarks the target. A floating marker can light up to give him an idea of the target's velocity, distance, awareness of his location (which would help with counter-sniping) and other possible factors that may affect his ability to land the shot on target (for a small amount of PP). When he’s not aiming, marks will follow moving targets; when the marker floats next to his sights, it can push and pull the gun magnetically to compensate for the target’s velocity. Summoning the pieces back (since they float in place after being set) would cost no powerpoints.
For higher powerpoint costs, Shinji can curve the beam toward a location of his choice. This is especially useful if a target knows his location and he has their location marked, as the beam will curve and travel towards the location of the marker. The beam will hit the target immediately, and the mark will move in conjunction with the target’s location, so Shinji won’t miss, but the rifle requires time to calibrate before it fires.
He can also use PP to temporarily change the rifle from an anti-personnel rifle to an anti-materiel by expanding the diameter of the beam, which allows him to damage armored vehicles or objects. This is the only “ammo type” that requires PP to use.
PP is also useful for a "suppressor", which causes the gun to greatly reduce the amount of light and sound the rifle makes, and gets rid of the particle beam trail much faster, all at no cost to the rifle’s damage. The suppressor also works after successive fires.
It is possible to combine all of these skills together, but doing so requires much more PP than Shinji normally has.
[You know what I said earlier? I take that back, apparently whoever rewrote this form has enough time to watch combat logs too. also powerpoints? really? -Minabe]
OTHER INFO
In his free time, Shinji likes to produce, remix, and master music, but he can also be found reading books (usually Western) or playing basketball.
His favorite food is udon. He frequently travels to find the best udon places. That said, he will travel for most kinds of food. [k guys, why would you put that I like udon here. Last time I checked this was a registration form, not a biography. -Minabe]
As befitting of his music production hobby, Shinji listens to music often and always wears headphones outside of field duty. He is into sound equipment as well.
During missions, Shinji has little communication and combat assist (i.e. heads-up display) equipment. He believes that he should be honing his natural skills instead of relying on too many fancy gadgets and being a liability when his gadgetry shorts out for whatever reason. The rifle does most of the gadget assistance anyways.
[prank's over fanboys (and girls), I'm talking to the superiors about this now. So glad someone accidentally gave me editing rights 'cause you all did a really good job of messing with an official form. 3/10 trolling effort -Minabe]
