Midnight walked from one vender to the next, in the Dragon Market, checking the goods on sell. He had only but a few bits left and the saddle bags under his cloak were getting very slim. It looked like he may have to pick up another job. Maybe he can find a merchant who could use a hand, but first he would need to make sure that he could get a room for the night, so he began to head toward an inn. Maybe he could find some work from there.

As Midnight is walking towards the inn Chrysteel comes out of the archives. She is so busy with her plans she almost bumps right into midnight. She says, "Sorry I didn't see you there. Are you new to the area?" The aura Chrysteel is currently giving of is one of nearly pure love and hope. She also seams to be thing about something.

"Oh." The vergacorn said as he stepped aside, "Yeah, I just arrived this morning". Midnight then look directly at Christeel, as he noticed his mood shifting. He did not care to pay that much attention to his emotions, but this seemed really odd. "I assume you stay here then. Is there any way you can tell me where I can find an inn and maybe some work. My wallet seems to be getting a bit thin." He figured that this was a fairly safe comment considering that if anypony wanted to rob him they would reconsider knowing he didn't have anything worth talking. Aside from everything, though he seemed to want to trust this one, he just hopped his trusty was not misplaced.

Chrysteel says, "Well the others and I are preparing to head back to 'Avalon'. If you need food and work I bet we can find you some there, or better yet why don't you join us? You seam to be a well seasoned traveler. You may not know about it, but somepony is planning to take down Discord. I am Princess Chrysteel of Avalon. It is nice to meet you." She seams to be one of the kindest beings in all the chaos he has seen. Yet even he can tell she seams to be hiding something. something he would feel can't be spoken in public. she waits for his reply before making her next move.

Asterian stepped out from behind Chrysteel, pre-occupied with a book titled "Deception: A Guide to Illusion Magic", the very same book that he had already learned his new arsenal of spells from. "Chrysteel, do you think the archive would mind if-" He stopped himself as, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the virgacorn to which Chrysteel was speaking at. "Oh. Forigve me, I did not see you there." He closed the book and tucked it underneath his fore-leg, bowing to the virgacorn as he did so. "Allow me to introduce myself. Asterian Starfall."

"Thank you, Asterian. I'm Midnight Strider." He then looked back at Chrysteel with a mischievous grin, "To stop Discord? I don't know if your crazy or stupid, but then again I guess we are all entitled to be a little of both. I had heard some rumors of a group forming in the Everfree, but I had not paid it too much mind. I was planning to check it out sooner or later, but I guess now would be a good of time as ever."

Asterian smiled a little darkly as he rose from his bow. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend, so that makes us allies, Midnight." His dark grin then shifted to one of a friendlier nature as he held his staff firmly, the scar along his eye the only noticeable defect on his face. His cloak shimmered with energy as he held beside Chrysteel, observing the place like a sentinel.

Chrysteel seams to be lost in thought as if she was partly in a trans. She says, "From the land of zebras and unicorns comes the next addition. The chosen grow, the darkness knows. Its power soon to show." Chrysteel looks to the Virgacorn, Midnight Strider, the look in her eyes is distant almost otherworldly. She says a few more things but it is in a language only a very select few know and understand. Afterwards she shakes her head and says, "Did I say anything just now? It is odd that sometimes it happens during my healing chrysalis, but now outside of it as well? A mater to discus with mother Cadence later. Come, let us meet up with everypony and start saving the chaos 6. Hopefully we can at least get two of them before the days end."

In all of his travles up to this point Midnight had seen many weird things, in the lands created and corrupted by chaos, but he was not too sure this did't make the cake. This almost beats the Jackalope incident. He only wished he could forget that day, but nun the less his driving curiosity had taken hold, and there was nothing that was going to pull him away form this. He was determined to find out what was going on.
He lifted his head after a bit of thought, "So when do we leave."
Well, Midnight thought to himself, I guess I'm the crazy one here.

Chrysteel says, "We were just heading back to the elder dragons for our trip back to Avalon. Care to join us? Mom can tell you more about our little gathering."
Chrysteel begins to head back to the elder dragons, where Rendia and probably most of the others are at. She stops only once to trade her last remaining love crystals for a antique clock for clockwork when they meet again.

Midnight looked at Asterian, "Did she just say the Elder Dragons?." He was now both warried and exsited. He did not know what he had gotten himself into, but whatever it was, it looks like it might be the answers he was looking for.
Midnight followed Christeel, he stoped by a couple vinders on the way out to pick up a bit of food for the road, but never letting Christeel or Asterian out of his sight.

Starfall nodded at Midnight, "Indeed the Elder Dragons, and They are everything the myths and legends say and more." As he continued to walk forward, he explained to Chrysteel mentally, As much dissension as is in the world, I still found some time in my life for cultural exchange amongst the stray wanderer in my old home's borders.

The liar raised an eyebrow. " All wrong, but ya might want ta get taken by surprise. That there gate's exactly what it looks like. A li'l word o' advice, if ya can, turn on every sensor you've got. He could control time on a whim, alternate dimensions his office and the timestream his conveyer belt. His brother resided over the flora and fauna, without him life would not be. Celestia raised the sun and... well, that was it really, as did Luna and her own body... Discord on the other hand... Clockwork was thankful he heeded the mare's advice, nevermind how degrading it was to keep his hand on her back as he offed his optical sensors and audio sensors. " My gods..." he muttered, flinching away as he felt something move over his arm " ...all sensors at minimal percentage and somehow I can still feel the aura around me...!" For the mare he was holding onto it must have been a breeze, but to Clockwork it was like moving through treacle... Colourful, annoying treacle. " How can the elements live in this place?" he asked, not sparing the effort to cover up his displeasure " It's like the very nature of this place is eating at your core..."

Tiamat nodded to the pair, flicking her unfathomable eyes in the direction of the small herd approaching.
"THEN I SHALL SIMPLY SAY, MAY ROTA FORTUNA SMILE UPON YOU ALL. AND MAY YOU SUCCEED AT LAST WHERE THERE WAS NAUGHT IN CYCLES PAST..."
There was a flash and a pop, then the Queen of Avalon approached, nodding respectfully to Her peers.
"I told My Brother what He needed to hear, and Abigail as well."
"THE SAME, AND YET DIFFERENT," mused Tiamat. "AND YOUR FATHER?"
"Will tell them exactly what they need to hear," replied Cadence quietly.
It went on for what seemed like an eternity, even for the Concept of Time Himself. Yet Liarjack never hesitated, and He remembered. The Six lived here, and did not feel its effects, because their cores had long ago been replaced already by the very Elements of Chaos...
A presence. A force.
A ripple in Reality, both drawing Him closer and repelling Him.
Stronger than anything, than everything, than all that was in Creation, for it was outside it, beyond it.
A Window. To Everything.
More Silver than silver met grey, which flinched but continued in a faltering hope and enduring trust.
A Perfect Reflection, not just of that which was visible, but that which was not seen, touched mechanical joints-

" Half of me expected this." he said, somewhat irked at having wasted his time on walking through...whatever he walked through " I take it you are the embodiment of my utter hatred for Father's world, a burning, twisted, mangled mess that somewhat encompasses my form?" The Alicorn looked back, eyes sad but nonetheless full of vigor. It surprised Clockwork, he had expected to be expelled from this mirror world upon such a guess at its motives. " You are wrong. Though I doubt you will ever admit it to anyone, even yourself." the Alicorn spoke, and Clockwork could see now how much resembled him, the old him... And how much was missing. He unfolded an arm, he must have done that out of indignation, an automatic response he could not remember doing, and pointed to the chains wrapped around Him. " A metaphor perhaps? Holding myself back from something, or is something holding me back from a true potential?" The Alicorn shook His head, stepping forwards to show just how loose the chains were around Him " Wrong again. They are less an encumberment and more a reminder, an itch that seems to come back now and then. It pesters you, but it also makes you feel that little bit better." Clockwork stepped forwards too, closing the distance between the two. Out of spite for himself? To show competition? What for? " You are speaking in riddles, and you know how much I hate dancing around the truth of a situation." The Alicorn nodded casually, scratching at a chain as if it were a part of His body " That is true, but you are also guilty of such a crime yourself." He seemed to inspect the shackle attached to His ankle, before extending it to Clockwork " Did you know Luna's mark is only the crescent, not the black void around it?" Clockwork gave him a displeased look, he could not understand why, the Alicorn had submitted an honest fact that he did not know " I fail to see how that has anything to do with me. What goes on on organic flanks is not something I..." " Celestia's birthday was yesterday, did you know that?" Bending at the elbow another shackle was seen before the Alicon lowered His leg " You did remember her present, did you not?" Clockwork growled, but the sound was alien to him. A recollection of a birthday? A commonplace occourance every year. " I don't waste my time with such festivities, and don't interr..." The Alicorn raised another shackle, clipped to the base of His wing " Are you not proud of Cadence for surviving all this time, protecting all these people with just her mind and her spirit?" " SHE HAS MADE A MOCKERY OF THE VERY IDEA PERTAINING A SIMPLE DEFENSIVE STRUCTURE!" Clockwork wondered why he had shouted, why it sounded angry, there was no need for him to be. The Alicorn sat on His haunches, watching the mechanoid creature choke air into his venting systems. It was a patient look, even with the cock of His head " Do you even know your own family anymore, or has hate severed those ties as well?" Clockwork opened his claws, but why? The Alicorn was just asking, there was no need for violence " I have not called that bloodline family since I saw a whole different side of life." The Alicorn nodded sadly, but knowingly. " Indeed I can see that, but I wonder if you still know them." Clockwork made a frustrated noise, even going as far as to ball his claws into fists. But there was no point to it. " Fine! Queb, God of Flora, of Fauna, the Life Giver, Brother of Time! Celestia, Mistress of Light, of Hope, the Light Bringer, Sister of the Moon! Luna, Mistress of..." The Alicorn raised a hoof, showing a different shackle on His other ankle " You know of their titles, I do not doubt that. But I asked you if you knew them, and you evidently do not." Clockwork wanted to scream and burn this place to the ground, alongside this insufferable reflection of himself. He wanted out of this place, back to his home in the streams of time, so he could scheme the destruction of worlds as he saw fit. Instead he sat before the Alicorn, brows furrowed as he thought about His words. " May I see those shackles?" he asked. He asked. The Alicorn obliged, offering the first leg He had lifted. The shackle bore the mark of a crescent moon. Another showed the mark of a warm sun, another a crystal heart. There were more he could not recognise, a thorned rose, a tree encompassed within a globe, an ancient glyph for a word long forgotten, each shackle he arrived at held one of these marks, and as he looked back there were shackles upon shackles. " Shall we?" said the Alicorn, standing once more. Clockwork hesitated, before turning to Him. " Only if you tell me whose marks they are..."
