"All right, then let's hop to it!" Candycane agreed. "What do you need taken to Magician's Alley and the Marketplace?" she asked Copper Scroll. "It'll help if we write down the recipients, too, since Sandstone and I will be spending time in each place."

"All right, then let's hop to it!" Candycane agreed. "What do you need taken to Magician's Alley and the Marketplace?" she asked Copper Scroll. "It'll help if we write down the recipients, too, since Sandstone and I will be spending time in each place." The professor smiled, pulling out a portfolio of notes sealed with red string, and a strange-looking talisman with lots of fancy engravings and gemstones attached. " I owe a mare by the name of Vixie Lulamoon, or the Strange and Wonderful Vixie as she prefers to be called, a few notes on magic after losing a bet over the nature of magitronic flow through mana nodules... arcane research subjects, nothing for you to worry about," he quickly added, at the glazed look on the fillies' faces. " Her place on Magician's Alley should have the symbol of a wand and spark at the front, along with the ancestral magician's hat of the Lulamoon family. This multipurpose talisman goes to Mrs. Fruit Cake at the Marketplace; her store is shaped like a gingerbread house. Quite distinctive, and according to the family, based off the original design of the Sugarcube Corner once home to the legendary Cake Twins, Pound and Pumpkin. I'm sure they would all be simply delighted to meet someone from the Golden Age who could tell them more about that time."

"Pound and Pumpkin Cake," Candycane echoed dreamily. "More names that sound so distantly familiar... I think from the sources I was reading about the locals... Were they part of the family running Sugarcube Corner? Amazing to think I was so close to competing in the industry with figures that would later go on to become legends," she sighed. "I don't even know what to think of it... Well, notes for 'the strange and wonderful' Vixie Lulamoon, and a talisman for Mrs. Fruit Cake," the mare repeated, writing those names down on a piece of scratch paper before tucking it and the deliveries into her satchel. "I'll make sure they reach their new owners! Thank you so much for the tea and your time. It's been fun!" she chimed. "Will we be seeing each other again?"

The Professor smiled, bowing in thanks. "I would be very much honored if you choose to return. Perhaps at the end, when all is said and done, and the world is as it should be, or sooner, if need arises, or, Queen forbid, the prophecies falter. But all in good time."
He looked thoughtfully at the pair for a moment, then grinned. "Well, I, for one, have never quite mastered the 'goodbye'. I do wish you both all the best of luck."
The stallion stopped as Sandstone came up and hugged him. "Thanks, Professor. Ah'll be sure t' give that disk t' Saint Liarjack."
"Ah... you're quite welcome, Miss Sandstone."
Their tea finished, things packed, and last goodbyes said, the pair headed off in the direction of Magician's Alley. It wasn't too hard to find, filled as it were with countless shimmering illusions, floating crystal lanterns, magical wisps and glowing runes of arcane languages long forgotten outside this land. Sandstone gasped at this overt and beautiful display of magic, something which had been explicitly forbidden back home.
"Ah ain't never seen nothin' like this..." she breathed, holding out a hoof as a butterfly made out of sparkles landed on it. "Twilight Tragedy always came 'round killin' anypony that had even a lick o' magic back home. It's why Caster an' Magica an' all th' rest died, y'know. It wasn't jes' 'cause Big Banana likes sufferin', though that's one reason."
With that sobering thought, she went right back to enjoying the countless sights and sounds of spells and enchantments.
