"Hmm i am very skilled when it comes to magic magic can come really handy when sailing ya know but unlike unicorns i have alicorn magic since i happen to be half bat pony i can see in the dark and i can also fly" she said as she opened her bat wings.

But i can assure you i probably have better magic than any unicorn in your crew would you really turn down a really useful crew member?" she said. |

"Just because yer a unicorn doesn't automatically get you on my ship. What's yer talent, then? Do you know how a ship works? Can you fish? Fight? Magic means nothing if it doesn't manifest itself in a useful way."
((Remember, Twi only has powerful magic because that's her talent. Other unicorns only have magic that reflects and helps them with their talent.))

Jaggard looks at Moonlight from his table. He looks at her closely before giving his judgement. "She could be useful in rough situations. It would save us from losing some crew members. But sailin a ship? She's useful for cleaning it and maintainin the ship. Magic or no magic, every crew member must be doin' something when we aint fighting. And pirates, much to me knowledge, aren't lazy freeloaders. She can do cleanin duty with the rest of the crew, if she doesn't know how to work the sails."

Cross nodded thoughtfully. "Yeah... yeah. That sounds about right. Well, I guess another hoof on board can't hurt. Just don't eat too much." He looked past her, hoping to see someone else. "Blast. I can't run a ship with only three ponies and a griffon. I need more shiphands."

Jaggard looks into his cup of rum. "I'd be thinkin, what kind of ship are we sailin in? A brig? A frigate? I would like to know before we end up settin sail in a fishin boat. And I doubt the rest of ye crew would enjoy that." Jaggard seems to be talking about some other pirates besides the ones recruited in the bar.

Stepping into the bar is a pale colored unicorn with a bleached white mane and tail. On his flank is a compass and map cutie mark. he looks frail and weak as he comes over to captain Cross and says, "You look like a stallion who is in need of a tactical expert."
When Gunner hears the unicorn speak he says, "Well I'll be the bride of Davy Jones. Is that you Book Worm?" Book Worm looks over to Storm Gunner and says, "By the seven seas, Storm Gunner. I thought they caught you trying to rescue the old captain before he got The Gallows. What ya doing here?"
Gunner says, "Naw, they couldn't catch me even if I had both wings clipped and joining a new crew. What about you?"
Book Worm says, "Looking for a new ship." He turns back to Cross and says, "It not a tactical expert. I can do anything as long as it has to deal with books and maps. I can tell by just looking at an approaching ship: A. if they are friend or foe, B. Who and at what range will get to firing range first, C. I can tell you what kind of Troops or munitions a ship is carrying, D. I can smell trouble a mile away. If that isn't enough for you I am also one hell of a cook. I can take sea weeds and make it taste like heaven with only the bear minimum of cooking supplies. I was also my last captain's first mate. If it wasn't for Gunner there catching that snitch, I wouldn't be here today to offer my wide range of skills to ya."

Crossbolt yelled over his shoulder to Jaggard, his horn glowing, casting a spell that ensured that only he would here it. "It's an old lineship that I bought off some treasonous naval officer. Brought less trouble than I expected, to be honest." He turned to the new unicorn. "I may have you come aboard. But you seem a little green, if I do say so. Are you sure you can handle it?"

The unicorn chuckles and says, "I have been on the sea for more then 7 years. Green....no, knowledgeable....yes. I can handle the sea like I would a newborn foal. It is delicate work but, hey somepony has got to do it. I can plot a course just by looking at an oncoming storm and sometimes, my griffon friend there can tell ya, he hates the courses I set because it always provides just enough excitement not to let a crew get bored but not enough to say sink the ship."
