Asha smiled as she pulled out the old pin from its place as she held it a glow, the color of shimmering rainbow, flashed across its surface. Asha says almost to herself, "Ah! here it is. I knew that rumor wasn't kidding. Dash's old wonderbolt weather badge. My second great grandmother will be resting peacefully in her grave now that my family has it back."
She goes over to the shop keep and says, "Shop keep, how much for this one? The area I found it in didn't have a price." She shows the slightly worn badge to the shop keep. The glow having long sense vanished from the piece. For those who knew not the power of Pegasus weather magic, the item would seam to be just an armor or flight suit pin. but for those who did know, it held the power to ward its wielder against all kinds of weather based effects both natural and unnatural.

The shopkeeper grinned widely, though obviously he had no idea whatsoever of what the object was at all. "Ah! The rare lapel-heffy! A wonder of the Ancient World! It is said that the Ancients wore FIFTY of them on their head to ward off bad luck! Special deal today, only sixty bits each! It shines, it blinds, and makes a neat miniature hat too!"
No, he obviously had no idea at all, though that line might have worked for the more stupid and gullible unfortunates that stopped by. Normally, sixty bits for an odd-looking brooch would have been the very definition of swindling, but unbeknownst to the shopkeeper, his price was actually laughably low for a powerful and one-of-a-kind Artefact. Oh if only he knew.

As if to shock the shop keeper as to the true value of the item, she places before him no less then 150 bits for the item. Despite being loyal to her friends, she has always been charitable and honest with the many she meets. She chuckles says, while putting the badge in her collar, "I think next time you might want to take a look at what you have before you put it up for sale. This item alone is naturally worth double what you asked, so I leave you the 150 bits as a sign of my generosity and of this item's true value. This item doesn't ward off bad luck. It wards off bad weather, both natural and unnatural. I should know, it is as old as my katana. Also only 10 of them now exist in this day and age. All others were lost a long time ago. Even the knowledge of how to make them was lost." As she says her words she pats her favorite katana.
Asha turns after given the shop keep a generous sum of bits, the 150 she said she would give, and leaves the man's shop with her family heirloom now back in her possession. She thinks to herself, "I think that Halfling would love to have this as a safe guard for our trip. It should help with his nerves at least. As long as I get it back in the end." She heads off to the inn but before she get there, her power starts to swell again. So she heads out of town to vent the last of her emotional energy. As she is leaveing the town she sees bane's camp and leaves a note next to him telling him, "To Bane;
When you wake, I more then likely won't be back yet. A problem has come up and I needed to leave town for a bit. Be back before we leave tomorrow. If I am not back by then, you can find me in the old abandoned ruins near this town. Just look for the large lingering magic field. The lord knows what magic field I speak of.
You companion and friend, Tienasha, the mage-knight."
With that Asha heads off to the near by ruins to vent the last of her emotion of loss and sorrow energy. ((bane your reaction to the note it your own. Magus you decide what happens when she vents the last of her emotional energy. It will also, afterwards, cause her to fall asleep there.))

The explosions of light and thunder near the Old Forum was quite a sight to behold, but the guards of Thalassana had long grown used to seeing such light-shows when wizards and dwarves came calling, and as long as the travelers did not create a hole in the ground, the guards chose not to intervene, though the younger ones looked on in fear and the older ones in suspicion.
Day dawned slowly upon the crowded city, heralded by the crowing of roosters and the ringing of the castle bells, signaling guards to change shifts. Street cleaners were busy sweeping the filth of the city into the gutters or shoveling it onto wagons to be burned elsewhere, and merchants were setting up their stalls in the markets as the early risers began to take their morning walks.
Paragonis was already up by the time most travelers here awoke; he had been reviewing maps of the surrounding area and plotting a safe route towards the southwest most of the morning before dawn, though the candle was out and cold. His bed was folded, and he had quietly made his way to the common-room, where some of the other residents had taken their midnight suppers and early breakfasts. He was seated at a comfortable table meant to cater to both Big Folk and Small Folk alike, which is to say it was slightly low for him and slightly tall for halfling and dwarves, but comfortable enough for all. He had a mug of Hopsman's best in hand (which was getting better every day since the wizard gave him a special talisman, or so the man said) and a plate of cheese, buttery biscuits, soft eggs and potatoes before him, growing a bit cold as he alternated eating with reading through a book on useful plants west of the River.
Nellie was sitting next to him, her head buried in her hooves, a mug of strong black coffee half-empty beside her. She'd never been a morning pony, but she was polite enough to keep it to herself, and Paragonis knew her well enough not to bother the poor mare at this time of the day.

Bane wakes up from his slumber and gets up. He notices a note on the ground and reads it. A problem she says. She ain't the only one here with that sort of thing, isn't that right. Anyway, I will leave her be unless she hasn't returned before the departure. Bane gets up and wraps up his camping gear. He walks towards town and sees the inn. He enters into the inn and sees Paragonis. "Hey there Paragonis! Hello Nellie. Having any luck getting this whole departure ready to go? If so, I'm ready to go." He approaches Paragonis and Nellie and sits down with them. "Oh and can you tell me where I can find the abandoned ruins near town? Just in case."

Fides and Silentium showed up to to the tavern at eight o'clock on the dot, whereas Bane, Paragonis, and Nellie had gotten up at their own intended early times. The knight and his squire had their attire in pristine order. Silentium quietly ordered two simple breakfasts while Fides took the opportunity to refill Nellie's black coffee, offer paragonis a new mug (not having a mind to take the mug out of the wizard's very hand), and offer Bane a drink as well. One might begin to wonder if the pair were paying for their service right out of their own pockets... Indeed, Silentium was, discreetly, exchanging currency with the bartender. He seemed a bit distant with the way he followed the code of chivalry, as though he hoped no one would attempt to initiate conversation with him. His smiling squire, of course--politely quiet as he was at the moment--appeared to be prepared to talk to anyone who felt so inclined.

Asha was nowhere to be found at the moment. Bane knew where she went but she has yet to return. Hmm....What could have happened? Paragonis knew of only one thing about Asha, if the council released the memory seal, she would probably be dealing with the excess energy built up by sealing the event from her mind instead of working with her to get through it. Still as the hour of departure draws near, Asha still has yet to return.

Bane notices the two knights and got up. "Well, I was hoping for some conversation before the rest got here but it seems time got cut short. I need to go move around a bit, stretch my legs and arms. A little bit of exercise one might say." He leaves the tavern and heads out of town, towards the abandoned ruins. "Let us hope she isn't in any sort of danger and hopefully just sleeping. I would hate it if we lost a member of this.... what was it he said? Fellowship?" The sword hums in response. "Hmm, I would have just called it a group."

An off-duty guard looked up at Bane's comments to himself. "Oh, you're looking for that Mage-Knight? The one from the City of Wonders? You should've seen her last night, I thought she was going to blow herself up, the way she was glowing! You'll find her over there, in the ruins of the Old Forum," he pointed. "The last shift coming in said they noticed someone over there, but that she wasn't being a bother, and didn't look hurt, so they decided to let her be. We get people like that now and then. Er, people meaning most visitors from Orod Khazad and the City; I don't think I've ever heard of halflings doing it, and I'm pretty sure nobody else knows magic."

Bane does a simple wave of gratitude and walks towards the Old Forum. He quickens his pace a bit as soon as he leaves town. After some time, he arrives at the Old Forum and starts to look for Asha. "There is a definite magical presence in the air. A bit dense when seen up close. However, finding the right source may prove to be a problem and this sort of magic is something I can't seem to absorb. Looks like we have to do it the old fashioned way, just look until we find a body."

Bane finds A female looking humanoid sleeping near the center of the area. The colorations match that of Asha. She seams to have worn herself out last night. The energy in the air is that of a very dark emotion. He can identify it as mourning loss, the most devastating of dark emotions. Only one who has suffered a great loss ever experiences this kind of destructive power. Luckily it seams the only thing that was damaged was a bunch of goblins and their ilk. Beside the humanoid is Asha's two blades and the mana shield. As he gets closer it looks as if the female is just starting to wake. " Ugh....Note to self never unleash that spell on living things again. Darn it. I am going to be late for the departure from this area. I hope Lord Paragonis can forgive my tardiness." It is as she is getting up that she notices bane. Quickly she ducks behind a pillar nearby and when he sees her again she is Asha again, and she is blushing profusely. She comes over to him and asks in an embarrassed stutter, " Di-Did y-you s-see m-me w-when I-I w-was sleep-sleeping?"

Bane puts up his fingers to show how much he has seen, which doesn't seem that much. "Only a little. I was mostly paying attention to finding a body slumped on the ground. You fit the bill so I approached you, and you woke up." He puts down his arm. "I was a bit worried when you haven't come back from that magical tantrum of yours, or whatever you people call it. Though I got to say, whatever ticked you off, you did a number to this place in just one night. I would hate to go against someone like yourself."
Bane sits down on some rock. He looks at Asha. "Though I must wonder, who were you mourning over? An emotion like that can't be bottled up forever. You can let it out in a more safer manner than some destructive magic."

Asha in front of him transforms back into her hybrid form. She then says, "this was both a blessing and a curse. My father was a human and my mother a Pegasus. This form was what I gained at birth. I was born as you saw me before. but at a very young age I started developing the use of this transformation skill."
She looks herself over before sitting down next to Bane. Now that he can get a close look at her she looks like a perfect cross between a Pegasus filly and a human woman.
She then says, "As for who, it was my father and mother. When I was a young foal, My parents and I were outside of the safety of the city of wonders collecting ingredients for my father's potions.
He was the most famous potion maker in all of the city. He earned his place on the magus council because of his alchemy skills.
Well, we were out gathering the ingredients for his potions. None of us knew the goblins were planning to raid the city that day. When they suddenly attacked my parents fought fiercely to protect me their only child.
It seamed that I was born out of a union that was said to be impossible because of genetic differences.
The battle they waged against the goblin hordes wasn't what killed them though.
You should know that when one awakens emotion based magic, the darker the emotion the stronger the magic they can use, right? That isn't all. Not only is the magic they can use stronger but it is also more uncontrolled. I was young when the goblins hurt my mother and father, but it also awoke me to my magic.
In a fit of rage I used a mana nova spell. This spell is capable of using ones full mana reserve to create an Area of Effect or AoE Burst that can, if enough mana is used, kill even the most durable of dragon kind. I had such mana stored when I unleashed the spell.
My parents knew that the rage effect would make the spell go out of control. The spell did. It tried to hit me in the effect of it as well, by becoming a massive tornado. My parents shielded me from the spell with their lives. I killed more then 1000 goblins with that one spell. But I also took the lives of my parents as well.
I lost my parents and that is why I mourn. When I was found that night. I was weeping over their dead bodies with nothing but the main wing bones and a few scattered remnants of my wings. My parents dead and me crying over them. I had lost both my parents and my ability to fly ever again. The ones that found me said it was the goblins that killed my parents but I knew better.
The school for gifted magi took me in and started to train me in the use of magic, but the loss of my parents and the fact it was my first spell that killed them, made it hard for me to learn magic. I was always bucking up the spells.
When they found out I was still mourning over my parents, the magus council thought it best, until I was ready, to seal my memories of the event. But they sealed the emotional energy as well.
Last night I got rid of the last of the energy that had built up over the course of nearly 15 years. What you see here is not the most destructive my magic can get.
If somepony forces me to endure the loss of my parents again, then you will see me at my most destructive. This is just the last 25% of the energy that I had within, that had been building for all that time.
Please don't tell anypony about this. You are the first being I told about my parent's death sense it happened. Also I normally would want to keep this form a secret as well, but in time they would have figured it out anyways. So I think when we return, I will remain in this form. Will you promise not to tell a soul about how my parents died? If so make me this as a pinkie promise and we can return."
She goes through the motions of the pinkie promise to show bane how it is done. Then she waits for his response about what she had revealed to him.

Bane goes through the motions Asha showed him. "There, I will never tell a soul and neither will the two of my.... 'friends'. But this will be fair if I tell you my tale of woe."
"During my years working as a sword for hire, or mercenary, A war was brewing between a large bunch of kingdoms, also known as the Alliance Kingdoms, and a mysterious dark force from the realms of Darkness. These attacks seemed like nothing more than some monster warlord becoming a nuisance, but the attacks were intensifying each time. We knew the Dark Lords were responsible for the mysterious attacks, but we never knew that they planned on invading us or the fact that they belong to the Dark Mother. At first, we blamed the independent Dark Lords for attacking us in this unreasonable manner, but we had word that some other force was controlling these newer Dark Lords. When we tried to figure out what was happening, we were too late. The Dark Lords of the Mother invaded the Kingdoms and forced them to band together against them. Those who could fight were recruited to do so, some drafted. I, for one, joined the Alliance Army to pay back what the Dark Lords of the Mother did, especially the oldest and strongest of the Dark Lords, Lord Ceriph."
"Before I joined, I was out visiting my home village to meet up with family and old friends. One of my friends asked if I could gather ingredients for some potion. So I went into the forest to gather some, which took me a while to find. While I was away, a Dark Realm portal opened up near the village and a single Dark Lord came out, Lord Ceriph of the Dark Mother. I was about to finish collecting the ingredients when I saw smoke rising from the village, so I dropped everything and ran straight towards the village. When I got there, the entire village was destroyed. The houses and buildings were destroyed and everyone was dead. All but the one standing in the middle of the pile of bodies. The one that stood there unfazed."
"When I saw him, I charged straight at him and fought for several hours with Aldorn's original form. It probably lasted a day, or so. But I was beginning to lose my stamina at a dangerous rate and I knew that I would end up like the others. So I quickly did something risky and was able slice him enough to scream in agonizing pain, but not enough to kill him. In response to the attack pulled on me, Ceriph unexpectedly fired a dark bomb at me and knocked me back several yards. Ceriph escaped back into the Dark Realm. I was in deep anger for not being able to kill Ceriph and headed off for the next town, but not before burying 72 bodies. When I heard about the war, I knew it was my chance to get revenge on Ceriph. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to be given the chance when the war ended and the portal to the Dark Realm was sealed. It did not mean that I wouldn't get my chance for revenge."
"And there you have it, a tale of woe for a mournful story. It's only fair that you hear my story in case you ever get curious. And besides, most of my friends knows about my past, even the veteran mercs."

Asha says, "Well It seams we both have had troubles in our past, though some were greater then others. I think the two of us will make a good team. Should we head back now? I know they are probably waiting for us. I also apologize for not telling you but you were sleeping and I didn't want to wake you. Bane, I think we are starting off on a good friendship and as the old saying goes, friendship is magic. Lets head back. hopefully I can get something to eat before we head out." Asha stands goes over and gets her blades and mana shield, placing them in their proper places. She waits for bane then with Bane heads back to the meeting area.
